Roberta was an exceptionally welcoming host and, that rarest of things, an organised Italian. She was prompt, attentive and pleasant at all times and we were delighted to stay in her apartment. She made us feel very welcome.
The apartment itself is on the third floor of a building in the Serapo area of Gaeta. It is cleanly and minimally furnished and we were very comfortable. Most importantly, two of the three bedrooms benefit from air conditioning so if the temperatures rise significantly you should still be able to sleep comfortably.
The kitchen is small but well-appointed (eg with kettle and toaster). We really only used it for breakfasts and for preparing snacks. The washing machine was new and very effective. There is a lovely large dining room/living room where we were able to lounge in comfort. There is a good TV on which we were able to watch the World Cup but we didn't watch much TV as there is so much to do nearby. The apartment benefits from no less than three balconies.
We had no problem finding free parking locally for our rental car but, as with everywhere else in Italy, the smaller the car the better (for ease of parking etc.).
The location is excellent for the beautiful beach nearby at Serapo. The 'alimentari' (grocery store) opposite makes wonderful sandwiches and filled rolls to order.
One slight downside was that there was a little problem with the drain in one of the two bathrooms. This meant there was a bit of a smell in that room but since it was the second bathroom we just closed the door and it didn't bother us hardly at all.
