I work as a writer/producer. I'm renting out my flat while spending the summer at USC in Los Angeles.
Cozy, clean and comfy is exactly how Giorgio describes his place and I must agree!
My wife and I arrived for the start of our honeymoon earlier then expected and Rowena (the cleaning lady) was just finishing up, so we knew everything was clean. The apartment has plenty of room and is about 650-700 sq ft and divided in three. The bathroom to the left, the kitchen/dining/living room in the middle and the bedroom to the right.
The bathroom is very clean with a standing room shower. Towels are provided.
The bedroom has a comfortable King sized bed where you can just "Crash-Out" after long days of walking through the cobbled streets of Rome. Looking out the balcony you can see some Roman ruins.
Giorgio has a washer, but no dryer. But that's okay because you can hang your wash on the clotheslines on the balcony like everyone else. Giorgio provides detergent. =)
If you're bringing adapters, Giorgio has electrical plugs that will fit both the skinny two pronged Italian adapters or the Schuko adapters which have the thicker prongs and are grounded.
The neighborhood of Testaccio that Giorgio lives in is a little gem! It has some of the BEST and authentic Roman restaurants in Rome. Giorgio provides a little map with some of his recommendations. We tried to eat dinner in Testaccio rather than in touristy Rome.
Testaccio is a 10 minute bus ride to the city center and there are plenty of bus lines that will take you there. You can buy 1,3 and 7 day bus passes at the Tabacchi shop just around the corner.
I would highly recommend Giorgio's place and we hope to come back and stay there again.
Response from Giorgio:
best review ever! thanks

I love staying at this place. It's in a fantastic local Roman area. Great food markets, restaurants and cafes nearby. It s a beautiful clean and comfortable apartment - its true. Great shower. Great host. I highly recommend it!
. Wij waren zeer tevreden over ons verblijf!
We stayed at Giorgio's place for 5 days on October. It was very clean and spacious apartment in a great neighbourhood! Everything seen on the pictures are accurate :)
Yes it is a bit outside of the city center which we loved most. He welcomed us with a warm smile and gave us quick recommendations on what is where. We enjoyed our stay very much and if we come back to Rome again, we will choose Giorgio's place.
Giorgio's flat is stunning. Super clean, gorgeous furniture, one of the comfiest beds we've ever slept in, great shower, and quiet at night. We fell in love with this spot. The neighbourhood is well-deserving of its reputation. Giorgio's recommended cafes and restaurants nearby were brilliant (although we ended up eating and drinking in the Trastevere most nights). It's a really pleasant walk along the river into the heart of Rome.
Clean and spacious apartment in a great neighborhood! Giorgio is a great communicator. We go there late due to our flight and Rowena (who lets you into the apartment since Giorgio is out of the country) was kind enough to stay late to meet us. Overall, a really positive experience. Would definitely recommend this apartment!
Our trip to Rome in late September was our first time visiting. Giorgio was great getting back to us with our questions, and he leaves great suggestions for food/supermarket/gelato in the apartment.
The apartment was spacious, clean and easy to get to. It really was our little oasis after long days of sightseeing. The kitchen was perfect for making breakfast and enjoying snacks. The bedroom and bathroom have plenty of space. The balcony looks out at Rome's lovely skyline and there is even some sort of archaeological dig going on in the back area behind the building.
What a fantastic location - we would totally do it again.
we stayed at Giorgio's for 5 days in September. the location is a bit outside of the city center, takes about 20 minutes to walk downtown or about 10 minutes with a cab - the fare is quite affordable, the most we paid was around 15 euros. the apartment itself is perfectly equipped, we did not miss anything during our stay. just as it shows on the pictures, the apartment is cozy and clean, also very light and spacious for 2 people. the place itself felt like home from the very first moment we stepped into. the view from the bedroom is amazing - there is indeed an archeology site just under the balcony. all in all i would recommend this flat for everyone who is looking for a place that is not so touristy but still fairly central located. lots of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood and some of the best breakfast places.
This was the ideal place to stay in Rome. The apartment was perfect and in a great local area within walking distance to many of the main sites in Rome. Highly recommended.
Giorgio was a super nice guest. When I met him I knew straight away that I'm leaving my apartment in good hands. He left my place clean and tidy.
It was a pleasure to meet Giorgio! He is a very decent person and I really hope to see him again some time.
I can only recommend him to other guests!
Giorgio was an excellent guest: very funny and pleasant-natured. he is a very clean and responsible guy. i would love to welcome him again.
Giorgio's flat is very nice, clean and cozy. It is in a very peaceful area in the heat of Rome, well connected and full of nice places to go out (restaurants, clubs..). Enjoy the staying!
Giorgio is a nice guy! I meet him while I was living in Rome in 2011 and we became friends:)
Giorgio's apartment is beautiful—immaculate, comfortable, well-decorated, and new. The location is great; it's in Testaccio, the best neighborhood for restaurants and bars in Rome, and it's very well-connected, with plenty of buses and the metro easily connecting it to the rest of the city. Definitely the perfect place to make your base in Rome! :)
G hosted me for several weeks as sublet in his Rome appartment. It was a great place and time, because he is an accurate, trustworthy, outspoken and very friendly guy with an excellen humor. Expect the best and you won't be disappointed.
Giorgio is a phenomenal host. Making himself very accesible at all times, happy to help and answer any questions you may have regarding to your stay and the local area. His apartment is clean and comfortable and very centrally located.
Giorgio is smart, funny, and a genuinely excellent human being. He'd be an excellent host for any would-be visitors to Rome.
I met Giorgio through mutual friends when traveling in Italy. I stayed in this apartment for a few weeks and it is amazing! Beautifully set up, and so close to both local hangouts and tourist attractions. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in Rome!
Giorgio is a really kind and polite guy and his apartment is really nice. It isn't far away from all the most important monuments, and you have the change to spend your time in one of the most exciting and typical neighborhood. Plus, he always know what's new in the city nightlife.
He can be your perfect host in Rome.
