I am a freelance camera operator from WV.
Since I travel quite a bit for work I can't always host. Depending on the situation, it may still be possible to stay when I am out of town.

We only stayed with Colleen for the night, but the room was wonderful and backs right up into the New River Gorge National Forest. She was very helpful about helping us navigate there and cooked us a great breakfast to go! Her roommate, Mark, was also lovely and very welcoming. I highly reccommend a stay!
I haven't met Colleen but the experience was great !
What I liked :
- She has an awesome cat.
- She has the best roommate, Mark.
- Mark is the nicest dude, and he makes bread. It's worth the best French bakeries. And he's cool with it, like it's nothing. He gave me the recipe and I make bread myself now. It's changed my life.
- I've been there in winter time and it was great to learn how to master the fireplace with a good beer and chat with Mark, you just feel like living the life.
- I've spotted a deer one night, from the deck.
Rustic, good vibes. 5 stars.
Colleen's place is a delightful and cozy home to stay at. Both Colleen and her roomate Mark were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We felt like we were staying with friends, and they were hardly ever home, so we had the place to ourselves most of the time. We enjoyed exploring the hours of hiking trails right out the front door. Fayetteville is a lovely little town with great restaurants and fantastic hiking and rock climbing. We would do it all again.
Accurate listing. Colleen and her roommate were great. Felt like we were staying with friends.
Unfortunately we didn't meet Colleen. But Mark -a friend of her- hosted us perfectly. We had a great time with nice people and enjoyed the fantastic nature!
It was such a great time staying with Colleen's place! It was just amazing! It is in perfect location to trails that we loved! Colleen is a great host! We totally felt like staying over in a friend's place. I certainly recommend her place!
P.S. If you are in the season, fireflies there at night are unbelievable! I haven't seen that many fireflies at once!
Staying at Coleen's has been a great pleasure. It is a quiet place, in the middle of the nature, surrounded by trees, few steps away (literally) from the trails. Indoor, the house has large space, tastly furnished, great kitchen, nice bath and shower (relaxing after a hike). Fayetteville is truly the 'coolest smallest town', people is friendly, and there are tons of outdoor activities (rafting, climbing, hiking, etc.). I plan to go back to WV and to her place.
Colleen's place was a warm haven on a cold night- a great place to come to rest after our long drive. The house is conveniently located for a hike on the trails, and for bird watching from the porch. Colleen was warm and welcoming- her advice about local places to eat, and things to do in the vicinity was great. We loved the breakfast, and the bed was very comfy too, but the highlight of our stay was probably Colleen's excellent cure for cold feet! We would definitely stay at Colleen' place again.
Colleen's place is amazing, definitely the perfect place to stay in the beautiful Fayetteville. She was our host during the three days / two nights we stayed, cooked breakfast for us and gave us great tips on what to do / eat in the surrounding areas. Her place is surrounded by nature, colorful and lively during the day and quiet at night. Great for star gazing and relaxing! All in all, an exquisite getaway in the mountains of West Virginia. Hoping to go back some day!
Gracias Saverio! Buen viaje. You are welcome here any time.
A beautiful home in the middle of West Virginia's wilderness, and yet, only a few minutes from Fayetteville's cute downtown area. Colleen was very helpful with directions to her home given it's remote location and was equally accommodating once we arrived, providing maps and guides to the area and personal recommendations. We were in Fayetteville to go whitewater rafting and Colleen, herself a former rafting guide, was kind enough to lend me some equipment--a hostess that will definitely go out of her way to help her guests! We enjoyed her home very much--huge, gorgeous porch with an idyllic view of the surrounding forest. We highly recommend if staying in the area.
Great personality and an easy guest. A few of my things were misplaced and the room wasn't left clean like it should have been. However Colleen is an extremely kind person and a hard worker.
Colleen was a delight to have as guest. Enjoyed engaging in conversation with her and her guest. I'd be happy to host her again!
We very much enjoyed hosting Colleen! She is outgoing, engaging, and intelligent! A very well traveled person, too! We are hoping she joins us anytime she is in the area, and wish her well on her trip back home.
Colleen was a great guest! We'd welcome her back anytime and recommend her to future hosts without hesitation. Lovely to have you, Colleen!
Colleen came here on a job assignment (shooting a new TV show). During the brief moments that she was not working and not sleeping, she was very pleasant.
Coleen is a great guest. Friendly, clean and quiet. I'd have her again in a heartbeat!
Colleen was great, my son and my dogs just loved her (as did I!). She was fun, clean, respectful and I would highly recommend her as a guest. I hope she will come back to visit soon.
They replied quickly to our messages during the booking, check-in/out phases. The checked-in/out at the pre-arranged times and left the apartment is good condition. They appreciated what our place and area had to offer. We appreciated them choosing us for their stay and would be delighted to host them again.
I can't imagine a more wonderful place to stay in the Fayetteville area than Colleen's place. It is a spacious but, cozy, beautiful, intelligently designed space that is filled with inspiring art. There are wonderful outdoor deck spaces to eat and enjoy the surrounding forests from a full dining table to a sunny stoop to enjoy a morning coffee. You can wander the wild rhododendron-filled property to a little creek and if you're feeling like a hike or a mountain bike ride excellent, all-levels trails beckon from the doorstep. Among Colleen's other wonderful qualities, she is meticulously clean and organized. Though Colleen's home feels like a wild, rural retreat, you are less than ten minutes from the restaurants in Fayetteville and the grocery store.
This is truly an ideal place to stay and enjoy all of the world-class outdoor opportunities the Fayetteville region has to offer.
