I'm originally from Japan and immigrated here back in '60s. I used to travel a lot and like painting. I love enjoying the company from all over the world.

Miyoko was a kind host. The room and place was private and allowed for freedom coming and going with a separate entrance. It was a good place to stay. If you are staying in summer, be prepared for warmth in the room during the day, evenings were fairly pleasant.
On arrival, Miyoko explained to me that she was in an awkward position since she had not listed the posting on Airbnb, it was done by a friend without her knowledge. She explained that the posting had been removed for future bookings. It created an awkwardness to the visit where I did not want to impose on her. At that point I had no alternatives to rebook. I would have appreciated knowing this earlier so I could decide whether to make other arrangements.
Overall, it was a private place to stay, and what I needed. This situation created awkwardness. Miyoko kindly honoured the arrangement with me.
I didn't want you to feel awkward or to be freaked out. That's why we decided to keep all existing reservations without telling the guests. So no worries! But thank you for your consideration.
Miyoko was a wonderful host. She went out of her way to make breakfast each morning and was very helpful with my stay. Her place is great, very close to the ocean and the separate entrance allowed me to come and go with ease. It was a great trip!
Very welcoming, great hospitality. Great area. Quiet neighborhood. Wonderful breakfast. Loved having a private entrance, kitchen area and bathroom. We had a great time!
Miyoko's place was the perfect spot. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was right off of our room and the room had a kitchen in it. It was practically like a studio apartment. The private entrance was great! It allowed us to come and go as we pleased without worrying about disturbing our host. The delicious breakfast she made us every morning was just an added bonus! This place is very close to the airport, but there were no disruptive noises from the planes. Very quiet.
I didn't see a lot to do in Playa del Rey but it wasn't an issue (and we didn't really look) El Segundo had a lot of nice little restaurants close by. This place is located close to Venice beach, Manhattan Beach and Hermosa beach. 15 minutes to downtown LA. All in all it is perfectly situated and convenient to everything. I would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Miyoko's place is excellent. It has nice clean room, private bath and living area. It has private entrance which makes it convenient if you come late. It is in a good locality.
Miyoko is a great host. She is very cordial and a nice person. She provided breakfast every day.
Miyoko's "Beach Ensuite" was the grandest AirBnB rental I've yet had, yet also the least expensive. Her home, a combination of classical and modern, Japanese and beachtown, is well-located on a hillside in Playa del Rey with a lovely overlook of the greenery on the slopes across the way. It has a narrow but long private pool perfect for doing laps tucked away just beneath her home with a jacuzzi. The suite is very well decorated, spacious -- part or all of the bottom floor) with windows that let in the light. You can come in late: the suite has an easily negotiated private entrance. Parking on the street was a breeze. The bed was large, sheets clean and pressed, pillows big and soft, and the mattress made of incredibly comfortable body-fitting material. The private bathroom and the cooking area with full-size fridge, big microwave, and copious hot water and tea were luxurious. You can barely hear any noise while in the apartment, even from LAX nearby.
Miyoko is a wonderful host, very caring, not intrusive, available in the mornings for a daily rundown of happenings. Each morning, Miyoko woke early to make me a breakfast that took three platters to deliver -- meats and eggs and salad and toasts with butter and cheese and juice and coffee... better than any hotel I know! We sat and talked and watched the morning news, although I could and did sleep in two mornings.
I grew up in Playa del Rey, so I know my way around: 15 minutes over the hill and you're on Dockweiler Beach with its famed 20-mile-long beach bikepath, volleyball courts, and great bodysurfing. You can walk to the beach around the hill in about 20 minutes; also PdR's funky small "downtown" (with a couple great restaurants, a coffee shop, and hot bars). Everyone is out on a nice day, even after sunset. And if you keep walking, you can cross over a period bridge to Marina del Rey. If you're beachbound north (Venice/Santa Monica) or south (Manhattan Beach/Palos Verdes), this location is excellent. Access to L.A. proper is really easy too, via fast-moving Jefferson Boulevard. The apartment is about 25 minutes from LAX (20 without traffic).
What can I say? I was blown away. This is AirBnB-ing of a higher order! I will stay with Miyoko on all future trips to L.A.
We love the suite with separate entrance. It is very conveniently located in a very nice neighborhood, yet with in walking distance to the beach. Nice swimming pool and Jacuzzi tub. The host is very hospitable, we enjoyed each breakfast.
She is a positive, easy going, and fun person to spend some time with.
Unfortunately, I couldn't spend a great amount of my time with her, but I could feel like she fitted in my little apartment very easily!
A good communication with her made me like to see her again :-)
