Giulia met us near the apartment to show us the way, and was very helpful with advice about where things were in the town. The room was nice, but it had no windows which made it quite dark and you needed to have the lights on all the time. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed, except wi-fi, but this was available in town. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of room. The apartment was in a very convenient location in the middle of the tiny town.
Giulia gave us excellent directions to find the apartment and was there to greet us at the appointed time. The location is fantastic as it is just steps away from the main street, but far enough to be quiet if you want to escape the tourists for a bit. The bed and the pillows were great. We slept really well after watching the amazing sunsets with pizza and wine by the Marina. The apartment is pretty much exactly as described in the listing - big and recently renovated with everything you need. The kitchen is small, but with so much good food in Riomaggiore we didn't mind at all.
The room is actually part of the La Branda Hotel and was very conveniently located next to the La Spezia Centrale station. Spacious room with bath is definitely a plus.
I never met Giulia (checked in by her personable father) but kept in touch via email. If you don't mind the hotel experience, I would definitely recommend the "Yellow Room" in La Spezia.
Even though we didn't meet Giulia during our stay she provided very clear directions for our arrival. While the apartment is small, the beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed. We didn't spend much time in the apartment as the weather was beautiful and Cinque Terre is such a stunning area to explore. The apartment was clean and well maintained.
When I arrived, Giulia gave me a thorough background on what I needed to know in the unit. She has a personality that makes you feel welcome. The unit was very clean and the bed so comfortable. The unit was very close to the railway station - across the road - and it was safe to go to and from there.
We very much enjoyed our stay in the sunset house. we had a little problem finding it at first, but once we did, it was obvious and so I would say the location is very good. The apartment is clean and well stocked. Giulia is very easy to work with and was very responsive. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a place to stay in Riomaggiore that is not on the main drag.
This apartment provided what it listed. It is very well located near the train station but at the same time the area is ugly and full of grafity. The breakfast was contracted to some near cafe. In the corner street my wife had an encounter with a pickpocket girl. Although we visited some of the beautiful areas of the city I will not recommend staying in La Spezia to visit Cinque Terre as we did.
We arrived in Riomaggiore when Giulia was taking care of other guests in La Spezia. She gave us directions to the apartment that were perfect, so we had no problem finding it or getting the key. Her communication with us was very good. One morning we had no hot water and she took care of the problem on a Sunday by the end of the day. The apartment is just as others have described it. Located in a little alley with only one window, there is no view. The dehumidifier was running when we arrived and it was quite comfortable to us. The location can't be beat however, and it is just steps from the main street, full of restaurants and shops. Twice we simply bought pizza and a bottle of wine and sat under a large tree at the end of the street and enjoyed a picnic and people watching.
La casa e' equipaggiata, pulita e curata, molto confortevole. Si trova al piano terra e si accede per delle scalette. Giuliana non l'abbiamo vista ma ci ha sempre risposto rapidamente ed efficacemente. Bella esperienza.
