we had a super nice stay. it was a busy weekend for us, meeting lots of family members for the first time (newly engaged), and Shoshana, Tim & family's home was a sweet peaceful good energy place to come home to. thank you for sharing with us!
My sister and I had an absolutely wonderful stay in Shoshana and Tim's home. They were friendly and very accommodating in every way, including being flexible with my early arrival time. The suite is lovely, very comfortable, and a perfect home base for exploring Berkeley and walking to events on campus. The beautiful bay view from the sitting area was the icing on the cake, and I would certainly book here again!
We enjoyed our stay at Shoshana`s. Her home was the perfect location for our goal of experiencing Berkeley's food scene. It was nice to meet her family and our private suite was very comfortable.
We had a great time at Shoshana's. The bedroom with a separate sitting room was pleasant and private. It's a very convenient location for accessing the town and the University. Her family is welcoming with 2 cute little boys. We would love to stay there again on our next trip.
The host made me feel welcome in a number of ways. She was there to greet me upon my arrival and essential offered up the main floor of the house. I was welcomed to join them for wine and conversation, offered the contents of the fridge on condition I restock what I took and so on.
The reservation was canceled 87 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Just as described. Shoshana and her family were delightful, welcoming, accommodating and interesting people. Making my idiosyncratic breakfast one morning I asked, "do you have a lemon?", Shoshana disappeared and returned moments later with three Meyer lemons freshly picked from the tree in her backyard, delicious!
Great views, and only 7 minute walk to Chez Panisse.
Thank you Shoshana!
My stay was absolutely excellent. the accommodations were comfortable, spacious, spotless, and interesting -- books, a marimba, art, views, unique decorations such as the gong you see in this photo and on the opposite wall masks. Shoshana and her family are warm and welcoming but not intrusive; they provide a key to the front door so that the guest may come and go at will. I look forward to returning.
The neighborhood is residential and quiet. It's on the hillside, three blocks up from flat land where there are stores and restaurants galore.
It was lovely suite in a lovely area of Berkeley and they were great hosts. Highly recommended!
Shoshana and her group left our condo in beautiful condition. I would welcome them back again anytime.
Unfortunately, we did not get to meet Shoshana and her family. She needed to cancel her reservation. In all of our correspondences, and her phone call, Shoshana was pleasant, cordial and polite. We would be happy to host them another time in the future.
Though i did not get to meet Shoshana in person, working with her via AirBnB on her reservation was a pleasure, she was always courteous, polite and to the point. Her rental group enjoyed staying at my house and left it all neet and in order. I would strongly recommend Shoshana and will always welcome her to my house. Kira
Shoshanna and Tim and Ian were great to have here as guests. Although I didn't see much of them, because I left the house for the weekend shortly after they arrived, I felt totally comfortable with them, and leaving the house to them and their friends. They did not disappoint, but left their room and my home in great condition. I'd love to have them back if they're ever this way again, and I recommend them wholeheartedly as guests.
I have known Shoshana since 1992, and have been a guest in her home many times. She is an excellent hostess, an inspired cook (putting local organic ingredients, including her own garden harvest, to use in everything from curries to heavenly fresh-baked onion bread). She and her husband Tim have created a lovely home, full of natural light and beautifully appointed with comfortable furniture. They and their home are the rare combination of both child- and adult-friendly -- meaning you will find their interests range from babies to current events to culture and the arts (Tim is a musician). Because of this, and because Shoshana has lived in Berkeley all her life, they are excellent sources of information and recommendations for places to go and things to do in the area.
