we had a great time and the apartment was great as was Mary!!
We loved staying at Mary's place! Conveniently located close to all the things we were there to do and with views of the Empire State Building. Mary thought of things we would not have since this was our first experience and she is a pro. The neighborhood was wonderful to explore as well.
Mary was very helpful and welcoming with stocked 'fridge, snacks, clean sheets and towels. To and from airport, check in and check out were all easy. Great location, quiet street and fun to feel like a local coming "home" each night. Very comfortable. Convenient to food, trains and buses. Thanks Mary and good luck in all you do.
The location of Mary's apartment was brilliant. I have stayed in Manhattan before and found it too touristy. This was refectory situated to cafes, the highline and the subway. The bed was very comfortable as was the sofa. It was just really nice to have somewhere to relax and this apartment more than met our needs. The only difficulty for us was that the building has no elevator. Would love to stay here again!
I loved this clean and comfortable apartment tastefully decorated in a mix of old and new european-style. Mary is a thougtful host that leaves plenty of necessary things (too much to tell)we often need and never will find in a hotel . My husband especially enjoyed the wide range of flavored teas. The list of recommendations about restaurants and markets was very useful. A great highlight is the outstanding location in a quiet street and so close to the metro, trendy clothes shops, banks, Italian restaurants, the High Line and a Citibike rental station on the corner. Thank you Mary for a wonderful stay al NYC!
My husband, 3-year-old daughter, and I had a great time in Mary's apartment. The location is great, the street was not terribly noisy, and Mary was so thoughtful. As previously mentioned by other reviewers, Mary left us a snack basket and some beverages in the fridge, and there is a very thorough and helpful list of nearby restaurants and stores. I loved not having to pack shampoo, hair dryers, and umbrellas on our trip, because they were all provided for us. We would love to come back to NYC soon and stay in her place again.
My husband and I just spent a week in Marys cosy apartment. The location in Chelsea is perfect; close to the lovely highline, art-galleries and nice restaurants and shops with Soho, west village well within walking distance. The neighbourhood is vibrant but not too busy. The apartment was cosy and clean, in case you need to go on-line the wifi is excellent. The bedroom has a comfortable bed and a view over the Empire State building. There were some drinks and snacks waiting for us and a friend of Mary received us and gave us the keys and all information needed about the apartment. All contact with Mary per email has been pleasant, swift and informative!
We can really recommend a stay in Marys apartment!
This Chelsea apartment lives up to its description. It feels like a home where we were welcome guests. Mary greeted us with
smiles and attention to our needs. She provided a basket of snacks - and an array of drinks in the fridge. The bed was so comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, the bathroom well-appointed, and there was no shortage of storage space. Out the windows is an excellent view of the Empire State Building.
We made good use of the wi-fi and cable TV when we needed a break from the buzz of NYC.
This part of the city has a village feeling. Within three blocks are restaurants galore - plenty offer al fresco dining. Comedy clubs, plenty of galleries, and bars are nearby. So too is a small Police Station, which made us feel really safe. A great cafe is only a few doors away. Busses are at each end of the block, and the subway is only three blocks.
Mary left several suggestions about where to go in NY. Most of these were not in any guide book so we had the benefit of local knowledge.
We have already recommended this delightful apartment to friends who are planning a NYC vacation.
Well located apartment close to subway and many restaurants. Very safe area and a good location from which to explore all of Manhattan as well as Brooklyn. Communication with Mary was excellent and the transition in and out of the apartment was seamless. The access to WiFi was also very useful. Enjoyed the stay.
Everything was OK in Mary's apartment. We arrived late at night and a friend of her was waiting for us in the apartment. We found all we needed when we arrived : food and drinks. Mary is very helpful. The apartment is comfortable, Mary's bed is wonderful, but the sofa bed could be more comfortable. Its OK for young people. We were three adults. The apartment is very well situated, several subway stations around and its very easy to visit the city from this place or to do some shopping. Nice view from the bedroom's window on the Empire State building especially at night. Chelsea is a quiet district and the building is also quiet. We would be very happy to stay there again.
