A bit about me: I am from a small town about 30 miles south of Belfast, and grew up by the sea. I grew up sailing and recreational fishing (mainly lobsters!). I represented Ireland in the Olympic Games in 2004 after completing an MBA in Trinity and went on to found and build several companies one of which (a diamond and jewellery company) was eventual based in New York City.
I returned to Ireland in 2011 and set to building an Irish ballet company called Monica Loughman Ballet and am pleased to say that this became very successful and could morph into an Irish National Ballet soon.
Now I am working with a Brussels based NGO tackling climate change through reforestation in equatorial regions. It is also making a significant impact on poverty in places such as Africa and Brazil. These issue have long been a passion of mine.
My main passions are family time, adventures in foreign lands and great experiences of all sorts.
