Just a great location and a wonderful downtown apartment! Only minutes to great shopping and dining opportunities, just 15 minutes from downtown Halifax and the waterfront. Lori (and Brad) were very kind and always responded to questions within only a very short time (sometimes minutes). The apartment was clean and equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay (even with a small child). The fridge was stuffed with some groceries on arrival.
Free parking space in front of the house or behind the house. Just perfect and many thanks to Lori and Brad, we enjoyed our Halifax week very much! ***
Lori was very kind and helpful during our stay as a family of three in her spacious flat. She was even able to provide a playpen for our toddler son to sleep in, which worked out great, and was kind enough to have eggs and a loaf of bread waiting in the fridge! Her place is clean and bright, and gave us enough space to stretch out and watch a movie once the little one was down. The commercial strip of Quinpool Road is five minutes' walk and has all the usual services- groceries, liquor store, bank, and several restaurants. A bonus was that the Halifax Commons, very close by, has a large playground- this makes Lori's place extra-good for young families. Not being familiar with Halifax, we didn't realize how busy the Quinpool/Robie spot is, but earplugs were all I needed as a light sleeper to get a great night's sleep. Thank you for a pleasant stay, Lori!
This was a great spot for our three day stay in Halifax. We could easily walk to the old part of the city as well as to a fine shopping district. We found the beds comfortable, the shower had great pressure and design, and there was space for our car in the back yard by our door. We arrived in the evening at dinner time and Lori and her husband met us and made sure we were comfortable with everything. As well, there were eggs and bread in the fridge and after having hiked all day we just vegged out with scrambled eggs and toast. Thanks Lori! Great value for the price-we would definitely come back.
We had a great time staying at Lori's place. The location of the house was very convenient and we could walk just about anywhere we needed.
The house was clean and had nice charm and character. I definitely hope to stay again some day.
Our family had a wonderful experience at this spacious, beautifully located flat. Walking distance from the heart of Halifax, adjacent to a fabulous park, we couldn't have asked for better.
Everything we hoped for and more. Highly recommended.
Great location. Walk to the downtown, Citadel, etc. Just a block or two from groceries, liquor store, great book shop, vegan pastries/coffee shop, etc.
The unit is a little rough around the edges but the price is right and it had everything we needed. The bathroom was very clean and parking was super easy.
This apartment is exactly as described, though I would suggest it is more beautiful and spacious than the pictures demonstrate. Very comfortable for our family of four. There is a large park nearby and a grocery store (Superstore) a block away. The downtown area is walking distance for the ambitious, though up some steep hills on the way back. Tourist areas outside of Halifax, such as Lunenburg or Peggy's Cove, are easily reached from the apartment as it is isn't difficult to access the route from this location.
Most important about this apartment: Lori and her husband are gracious hosts, readily available and easy to work with. Lori responds quickly to email and text. Her efforts as a host made our time in Halifax that much more enjoyable.
One tip, if you have trouble sleeping through street noise, this is not the location for you. A nearby hospital means sirens through the night and the apartment is in close proximity to a fairly busy intersection, resulting in lots of street noise. This was not an issue for us, even with the windows open, but for some sensitive sleepers, it may be a struggle... and if you have kids, they'll enjoy watching the helicopter take off from the hospital roof.
Laundry is a coin op. If you need it, as we did, it's easier to have loonies and quarters with you when you arrive, though the Superstore was gracious in making change.
Overall, I would have no difficulty recommending this apartment to anyone needing / wanting to stay in Halifax.
We had a wonderful stay at Lori's apartment! It's elegant, roomy, clean, and convenient. We grilled on the big back porch almost every night. Wi Fi worked great. Lori was delightful! The location is ideal, right next to Halifax Common and the Citadel. Quinpool street (funky small restaurants, wine shop and a big grocery store) is right at the end of the street. Tons of walkable playgrounds. Great home base for exploring the city!
This spacious, clean flat is in a great location - a grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, coffee shops are all just a short walk away. Lori took the time to stock the fridge with breakfast items and there were plenty of towels and washcloths in the bathroom.
There was lots of room to store our suitcases and we really enjoyed sitting out on the back deck. The apartment has wi-fi and wide range of TV channels - good for rainy days! Lori was very welcoming and while we didn't need anything while we were there, she let me know that she was available if we did. We would definitely stay here again.
Great place! Nice location close to downtown and not far from the highway. Clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Quite neighbourhood.
We are happy to have hosted them in our home. Two perfect hosts.
Lori and her husband were guests really perfect with full respect of the apartment is as clean as that order.
Definitely to be recommended.
