We are a family of 2, plus a cat. We are French and have been living in Miami for 8 years now. Our only daughter left for college, and we have decided to rent the room so that it does not stay empty most of the time! The extra money we make with airbnb helps us pay for her art supplies, too. So by staying with us you're being kind of a mentor to a design student :-)
We welcome our guests as friends. That means we share the house, live our life and let the guests live their life too. We have no real rules except that you should treat our house and ourselves like you would treat your family or friends, with respect and empathy. We strive to offer you a good experience in our house but don't always have the time to have long discussions, as we all are very busy with our lives and taking care of the house. However I will gladly indicate the sights to see, how to get from our house to another place, what restaurants we like etc. If I have more time I would love to discuss your country of origin and your customs. So far we have received guests from France, Italy, Germany, Russia, Romania, Hong-kong and the United States.
We are very quiet people and enjoy reading, biking, photography, canoeing, cooking and visiting friends. We also like to travel, we have been to Spain, Germany, France, Mauritius and Reunion island, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Kenya, Canada, and many others. We don't like loud noises or music and go to bed quite early since my husband wakes up early to go to work. So our ideal guests are people who like quiet too, not "night owl" or club loving types (not that there's nothing wrong with this!). If you enjoy a good book, short and meaningful conversations, quiet time looking at the lake, then you will like us, I think.
