LUIS J. "LOU JACK" MARTINEZ is a Community Servant and Entrepreneur with DARE2DREAM LLC. As the song goes, he was “born in East L.A.,” then spent his formative years in La Mirada, CA.
He attended Pitzer College of the Claremont Colleges and then went on to Harvard University for his Master's degree in Public Policy, with an emphasis on Business-Government relations.
Upon graduation from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, Luis went to work for the Office of the late great Mayor of Los Angeles, Tom Bradley. He served as Mayoral Aide and Program Coordinator for the Community Youth Gang Services Project via the Mayor's Criminal Justice Planning Division.
He then took the non-profit route, working for the International Churches of Christ and HOPE worldwide for 11 years.
In 2001, the church came on hard times, and Luis had to pursue a secular career. He passed his Series 7 exam and become a Financial Consultant, first with the MONY Group and then with Orange Capital Management (OCM, Inc.), which now has over $350 million under management.
While at OCM, Inc., Luis realized that annuities just weren't his passion, so he obtained his real estate license and began working with Developer and Real Estate Entrepreneur GREG CULLEN as Property Manager for Mountain Business Park, a property slated for demolition by both the City and County of San Bernardino. Luis turned this faltering set of eight (8) commercial buildings into a thriving complex, and in 2007, Mountain Business Park--which was acquired for $2.4M--was sold for $10 MILLION DOLLARS!
LUIS J. "LOU JACK" MARTINEZ and GREG CULLEN HAVE COMBINED EFFORTS, ONCE AGAIN, TO "SHARE THE WEALTH" of their collective experience via DARE2DREAM, the Real Estate Investor’s "ANTI-Seminar" where they give aspiring—as well as veteran—real estate investors knowledge of and access to opportunities, individuals and institutions that only HARVARD can provide...
Luis lives with his lovely wife of 18 years, Cathi, and their three children (L.T.-17, Christine-12 and Philip-9) in beautiful, tree-lined Whittier, CA.
