The hosts were great! They were there when we checked in and .... we never saw them again! The place is as described -- cozy and romantic. For two people it's the right size for a great getaway weekend! Theres a beautiful star gazing hut, a cool hike in the woods and a private place to relax and enjoy Sonoma.
Very pleasant stay in a secluded and sylvan cottage that truly is 'away from it all'. Our hosts were welcoming, at-hand, and respectful of our privacy.
Wonderful guests. I highly recommend them to other airbnb hosts.
We had a wonderful time at this incredibly romantic cottage! Carolyn met us when we arrived and gave us a tour, and really made us feel welcome. Pictures don't do the stargazer hut justice -- gorgeous views both day and night. This is a truly special place, I can't recommend it enough.
This romantic treehouse like cottage was everything it promised to be and all that we were hoping for. It was honestly one of the most restorative vacations my boyfriend and I have ever been on. We woke early every day, hiked in the morning, tasted wine in the afternoon and cooked in the evening. The cottage felt like the setting for a fairy tale! I only wish we had been able to stay longer than 3 days to see, hike and taste a little more of Sonoma and Napa!
Guys/Gals dont pass this up it really is worth it. the views, the hiking, the owner of the property was an amazing woman. we first got there we didnt know what to think, we've never done anything like this before, but Ms. Carolyn (the owner) was just magnificent, she showed us the room, showed us GREAT spots to eat (take her advice!) and then just like that she was gone, we never saw her, it was just me and my new wife. Dont get me wrong would have loved to chat it up with her, me and my wife were actually really intrigued by her but we had our privacy! Now things I wish I knew ahead of time!
1. no microwave (which actually was a good thing, made us cook fresh food!)
2. She provides an oven with pots pans dishes cups forks spoons knives, salt and pepper, coffee maker, towels, blankets, pillows, heater/ac (wife loved the heater,) the fridge is a small fridge and the freezer is very small so shop lightly, a small tv with a dvd player and some really good movies,
3. buy some flashlights! there is a spot that Ms. Carolyn calls "the star gazer" really worth going out at night to but it is amazingly dark at night.
4. The tap water......was flipping amazing! I swear it tasted like it just came out of the mountain! dont bother with water bottles.
5. I wish we could have stayed longer.
6. If your going during winter bring warm clothes (thermals)
7. Go to the grocery store before driving up the mountain first! trust me on this.
8. bring your own bluetooth speaker for music
9. buy paper towels
10. no internet/reception (which again actually turned out to be a good thing, kept my wife off of (website hidden) lol)
Really worth it, weve already decided to go back next year.
This is a fantastic trip! Caromia and Gair are very nice! The bridge, the star house, the small tree house, two lovely cats, beautiful mountain road...
We also visited Napa. We took the hot balloon ride, visited the winery. Everything is perfect!
You should never miss it!
We had an amazing time!! What a beautiful, magical place. And Gary and Carolyn were amazing hosts. Including us like family. I will never forget this wonderful weekend. Thank you thank you thank you!
We fell in love with this place the first time we went and a repeat visit was everything we had hoped and then some. We got to listen to the rain, use the fireplace, and read while books in the jacuzzi. This visit we knew what a well appointed kitchen awaited us and between that and a fantastic gas grill... We cooked many yummy meals in our treehouse getaway. This place is special, peace can be found here and we feel so grateful to our hosts for sharing this magic with us.
I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the Bella Luna Retreat as well as its surroundings. It provides a perfect environment for R & R as you are surrounded by the natural world. If you are active and enjoy outdoor activities it is walking distance to Hood Mountain Regional park with miles of hiking/bike trails and spectacular views of the valley. The retreat has a walking bridge that offers a view of their seasonal waterfall. We enjoyed their lovely star gazing house and actually spent our mornings welcoming the Suns rise. The hosts were very polite, informative of the area and respected our privacy.
Our 1st experience with airbnb....it was perfect.
Gary's host and my partner, Marlon, has conveyed to me that Gary was a lovely guest. He was with us for some relaxation after being in Montego Bay for other reasons. According to Marlon, Gary was quiet, relaxed, friendly, kind and self-sufficient, having rented a car to move about. He is always welcome at our place, and comes highly recommended for any future host.
Carolyn and Scott are lovely guests. Great communication and courtesy. I really enjoyed their stay and they share the Aloha of the island.
We could not have wished for a nicer house guest. What a lovely lady (and I am not just saying it because she gave us a great review!). So far Airbnb have provided us with really fascinating people I would be happy to call friends. We will definitely be booking Bella Caromia's place next time we holiday in California - her place sounds fabulous.
Caromia's stay with us was so delightful and enjoyable we would encourage all other hosts to try to secure a visit from this most considerate and thoughtful lady. So,so tired from a very long flight and subsequent train travel, she still remembered to remove her shoes when she came in, and entertained us with highly engaging conversation.
Where we, as hosts, failed to supply a proper coaster for the pine bedside table, Caromia made her own to protect the polished surface, and ensured that nothing was left collecting around the basin in the bathroom.
Pluckily, she climbed to the top of our church tower and made an enchanting video with accompanying music which she subsequently emailed to us.
We will never forget this special time and our sincerest hope is that Caromia will come back here to stay if and when she pays another visit to this country.

I've known Caromia for nearly ten years, initially as fellow members of a bio-fuels co-operative.I've been to her pristine property and would reccomend her as a gracious host living on a beautiful property in Sonoma county.
