We stayed almost a week in John's appartment in baleal where surf is GREAT!
the first good surprise was that unlikely as described on the web site, the appartment has a fully equiped kitchen, a brand new washing machine, Cable TV and free wi fi connection.
the whole place looked pretty clean and charming.
Unfortunaltely, the first night was absolutely awfull, because of the other living inhabitants of the matress (fleas and/or other bugs)
my girlfriend and I could'nt sleep because of the many bug bites we were victim of, that are still itching one week after.
We had to sleep on the convertible sofa for the rest of the week.
Of course John reacted to our problem but with an unapropriate product, while changing the matress would have been the most effective & easy way to solve the problem.
so we spend (and payed) the rest of the week in a studio instead of a F2.
last thing: if you're taller than 1m80 you may not be able to fully extend in the bed and have to find an awkward position to sleep well!
cool place and happy surf :)
We went to Peniche/Baleal to surf. Located on the first floor of an apartment block, we choose this apartment as it was self contained and well located for good surf breaks. The apartment was clean on arrival and John met us on time to hand us the keys. John was very helpful with providing local recommendations on where to get supplies and surf shops etc.
The apartment can sleep 3 people, has a great shower (important after an afternoon of surfing), has car parking facilities and is within walking distance from quality surf breaks......literally put on your wetty and walk down the road.
There are two bars/cafe's down stairs (but they are on the opposite side of the building....so not overly noisey at night), which are convenient for going for an evening drink and or to meet the friendly locals.
We'll stay here again.
We spent over a month in John's apartment while on a business trip and very much enjoyed our stay. It is simply decorated and a completely functional apartment - spacious by Stockholm standards and with lots of sunlight - everything you need for cooking basic meals - on a quiet street. And the location is hard to beat - close to grocery stores and the systembolaget - lots of excellent restaurants within easy walking distance, interesting designer shops of all sorts, fabulous places to take walks - from extensive parks along the water, interesting neighborhoods, hill top views across the water. And it is only a block from a major bus line that gets you to most of the other parts of the city. John is friendly, responsible, very responsive to questions. So we recommend his place without hesitation.
Me and my friends enjoyed our stay at John's apartment. It is very well located, in a neighborhood full of small shops, restaurants and cafes. Not too far from the metro and the bus stop is just around the corner. The apartment was cosy and suited us well, although I maybe wouldn't recommend it for two couples sharing since one of the beds was sort of in the hallway. John was a good host and although I did not meet him, there was a small issue with missing towels that he sorted out right away. He also responded quickly to any questions I had.
Lovely, quirky apartment, lovely guy.
John is a reallly nice host. He picked me up from the metrostation and gave nice tips to meet the locals. The appartment is located in quiet street in a really vibrant, bohemian neighborhood. Close to the local cafes, shops and restaurants! The bath & bed were really comfy. I loved the wooden floor and the authentic kitchen.. and the beautifull oldfashioned elevator. If you truely want to live like a local for a while..stay at Johns place!
John was very nice and friendly upon welcoming us. I really enjoyed our stay. The flat is well located, charming, and very cosy. The beds are really comfy :) I strongly recommend you to stay at his place next time you come to Stockholm.
John's flat is very central and very cozy! You are close to all great stores and cafés in SOFO but just around the corner you also have the busses 2 and 3 that can bring you downtown in just a few minutes. It has a lot of natural light coming in which makes it airy and spacious. The kitchen is great to cook in and you can sit 6 people to have a nice dinner at home. You will for sure enjoy your stay in Stockholm in John's flat.
