My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carla's apartment. Her son met us there, and he had the place looking immaculate. He was very kind and generous, giving us fresh oranges, coffee, and maps of the city. The apartment gets wonderful light with windows on both sides and balconies facing in opposite directions. The bedroom is small, but we didn't mind at all. The location is great because the street is quiet and its so close to Vonderpark, which became one of our favourite places in the city. With our bike rentals, we had no problem getting around the city from the apartment. We will definitely return in the future, and we recommend the apartment whole heartedly!
Great friendly welcome from Maurits, who was very accommodating. The apt was as we hoped, extremely charming, and still functional, flooded with light on the dark days, warm and cosy when it was cold. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to make much use of the kitchen, a chef's delight. A curtain across the bedroom entry would be most welcome for future visits. The neighborhood was perfect, with everything we needed a block or 2 away, and with Vondelpark to stroll through on the way to the center. Excellent public transport very close and the tram ride towards the center was a visual delight every time. For non-Dutch visitors: expect very steep, very shallow stair steps and enjoy the exercise of the climb. It's over quickly and it makes the high-ceilinged airy rooms possible.
We (3 people) stayed there for 3 nights and it was a great experience.
The Apartment is located in a quiet area and only a short walk away from a supermarket and tram station which is really comfortable for your stay.
Maurits welcomed us very friendly and explained everything we needed to know. He even already prepared some brochures about Amsterdam which other guests leaved there for us.
We really enjoied our time there and thank Clara and Maurits for everything.
We stayed for five days. Carla's son Mauritz explained everything on arrival and also provided very valuable and detail information about the car parking. Very good location - public transport, supermarket, few good restaurants and Vondelpark nearby.
I stayed in Amsterdam with my husband and my son for 3 days. Unfortunately we didn't meet Carla. But her son met us and told everything that we needed. We liked the apartment very much. It was clean and very comfortable. If you decide to stay in Amsterdam, I very recommend you this apartment. )
Is a nice place, we have ended up staying for a while as we sort out own apartment, and it all works pretty well, is in a nice area, and is nicely done out...main bedroom is super small with double bed taking up almost all of the floor space, but small living room has pull out couch which we are using alot
We had a very good experience. The house was very clean and nice when mi arrive.
We had a gread comunication with her during the stay and, if any problem, she was very accesible.
The house was beautiful.
Excellent in every respect.
The apartment is lovely and very pleasent to be in. Carla lives in Pas de Calais, her son Buf lives in Amsterdam and handles keys and any problems and so forth; they were both thoughtful, timely, diligent and effective. There was for example a minor problem with flushing the toilet (the flush wouldn't stop), Buf had a plumber round in a day.
The rent is very well priced. I lived in Amsterdam once for three years; normally you'd pay 1500 euro/month for such an apartment, except you'd also pay the same again outright to the property agent, and two months deposit and then the first month of rent - and be committed for a year. Airbnb makes the local rental market look crazy (although to be fair it is the way it is due to regulation, which has made finding rental property in Amsterdam a Herculian task).
There is a reasonably sized Albert Hein at the end of the street, the number 2 tram stops there also (Amstelveenstraat), which takes you directly into town.
The only shortcoming I can mention is that the shower is small. I shower every morning and it's important to me, so I care more about this perhaps than most. The water flow is excellent, the heat is excellent, but the cubicle is small. It's absolutely *okay*, you won't have a problem, but if you like showers and shower as I do, you'll notice.
Note however this would in no way stop me from letting this apartment agian.
What a great place this is well worth a visit very classy furnishings a massive garden to play in and my favourite part was there was a record player in there which I used everyday and I even did paintings of some of the record covers. The only down side for me was the steep stairs but that's not too bad really because there is a bedroom downstairs...but yeah we shall definitely try and go back there. The local area is very quiet but there are beaches not far away and we found a couple of local brocantes to spend our euros at. The nearest Carrefour is in hucquliers where we spent more of our euros. All in all a very relaxing way to spend a week in France
Great apartment made for a great stay in Amsterdam. Many thanks
