Uffes flat was the perfect place to stay in Copenhagen. Very nice neighbourhood with cafes, bars and shops. The appartement was clean, light and had everything we needed (although I wouldn't recommend it for couples who just know each other since two weeks because of the toilet door who doesn't close properly). Uffe was very friendly, picked us up, when we couldn't find the way and gave us a lot of tips. We had a great stay!
I've had a great time in copenhagen staying in Uffe's flat, which is conveniently located amongst several bus stops and various supermarkets and grocery stores. 10 minutes to central station (walking time included) maximum and then you can either explore most attractions on foot or travel to anywhere else via regional trains.
The flat is basic, but to be frank, what else would need. The kitchen is well equipped with cookware and some essential ingredients. The shower is not in the flat but I've never waited in a queue. The water pressure was amazing, and the shower room is right downstairs. The toilet is a bit small, so be aware if you are tall. The bed is very comfortable. And as any common residential area, the place gets really quiet during night.
Uffe was very friendly and helpful as a host, left fresh towels, clean sheets and a lot of booklets and city maps in the flat as well. He also created a local map indicating local POIs and average meal price for various local restaurants, which is extremely helpful.
I'll definitely consider staying there again next time round.
Although I didn't get a chance to meet with Uffe, I truly enjoyed staying at her place. It was very comfy and cozy, the space was spacious enough for my friend and I. I truly recommend this place as long as you don't mind that the bathroom was downstairs (not inside the place)! Thank you, Uffe!!
We had a great time at Uffe's place. It is very conveniently located, we did most of the sightseeing on foot. The flat is small and rather basic but charming, and it has everything you need, including a good bed. The showers in the basement were clean and we had them to ourselves whenever we went down there. The flat itself was very clean, too. One word of warning to those of you who are taller than about 170 cm: the toilet is minuscule, you might not be able to close the door completely.
Our special thanks go to Uffe who waited up for us till one o'clock in the morning to hand over the key. He was very willing to answer pre-arrival questions and always replied within hours or even minutes. He left some leaflets out for us and gave us tips on what was going on in the city during our stay.
Next time we are in Copenhagen, we will definitely consider staying at his place again.
Tak for sidst, Uffe!
My 7-year-old and I really enjoyed our stay in Uffe's apartment. The apartment is extremely basic - this is by no means a luxury residence. However, the location is convenient (15-min walk to central station - we only took transportation 6-7 times in our 1-week stay), and the basics we needed (kitchen, internet, and a bed) were there. Uffe took the time to meet us, show us around the apartment and give advice on things to stay / places to eat.
The flat was exactly as described, small but typically Danish, and made an ideal base for exploring the city. Good for buses and walking distance to the station. Do not be put off by the shower being downstairs. It is not a problem at all- we never saw anyone all week and its a great shower. It is a good idea to take light dressing gown for the shower though. We echo all the good recommendations made by the other reviewers.
Thanks for a great week
Uffe has a great spot. My wife and I (33 and 34 years old) stayed there for four or five nights in early June 2013 and found it the perfect spot to explore Copenhagen. There are two grocery stores just around the corner and an excellent bakery about 1 minute away where we picked up some coffee and pastries each morning. Excellent shawarma places a few minutes away. The neighbourhood is super cool and not at all burdened with tourists. The shower being in the bathroom was a little strange at first, but we didn't mind it one bit. We loved feeling a little immersed in Copenhagen life while we were there. We didn't get to meet Uffe himself, but he was great with keeping in touch and making sure that we knew where to go and his friends who met us at the apartment when we arrived were extremely helpful.
Great location in a VERY reasonably priced neighborhood, food-wise. The apartment was roomy for 1 person, the shower in the basement was a great, hard pressure, the kitchen had tons of utensils though I never used it. I didn't want to clean anything so I just bought food out and ate it while walking down the street.
The Midnight Star (?) falafel place nearby was excellent and dirt cheap, the Mood Food place was great for salads and veggie burgers and the gelato place next the falafel place was also great and inexpensive. The supermarket right across the street couldn't have been more convenient.
The host was quick with email replies and the apartment, for the price, was a good deal for me. Like I said, for the price, it was great. If you're looking for absolute perfection at this price, it doesn't exist!
Very nice flat, comfortable and clean. Good location in a nice area with easy access to the center. Uffe was a very helpful and friendly host. Very good solution to enjoy Copenhagen.
Very nice appartement. Cosy, comfortable and well decorated.
Located in Vesterbro, the best area in CPH!
Shower is in the basement...but it's very big and clean.
Uffe is an excellent host, very friendly and available.
