AirBnB doesn't get much better than this! Rebecca and Matt are sharing, compassionate, fun folks, invested in the local art scene and community. Much to our surprise, we even realized we'd met just a month prior at a Los Angeles border arts' exhibit. Together, we attended a few screenings put on by Mexico's Ambulante Film Festival (April) - our raison d'être for the visit. The home is cozy and just a short walk from the beach. Booze a little, have a fish taco, attend some art events, go boogie boarding, and enjoy getting to know the life and politics of the xoloitzcuintli.
Rebecca is a really rad person and I had a great stay at her place. My friend and I tagged along to a couple of art exhibitions that we would not have known about otherwise. Rebecca was great about suggesting these events to us and making us feel welcome. We met some wonderful people there and along the way that it really made the trip.
We never seemed to have a problem hailing a bus, van or taxi to get to and from Centro and their place in Playas, and Rebecca even drove us a couple of times as well. I did take a few screen shots of her neighborhood on my phone before arriving in TJ--this was helpful because the small streets around the house are not marked very well. It's very close to a main taxi stand, so pretty easy once you learn the way the first time. It's also an easy 20 min walk on the beach to the boardwalk and main scene in Playas.
I would definitely stay with Rebecca again.
Rebecca is one of the cutest and smartest friends i have. We've known each other since a long time and she has always been a great host to me. We had amazing fun times at her house with our mutual friends. Rebecca is an openminded multiglobal person with a big heart and an extraordinaire smile. You will definetly have a great time with this very special person.
Rebecca is the kind of person you'd want to invite over, anytime! She is a dear friend who I first met through an art event she invited me to participate in a couple of years ago. As it turns out we have many friends in common anyway. Rebecca's super fun, super charming and her positive energy is a continual source of inspiration. She is genuine, considerate and a connector. Creative, intellectually curious and full of life. A loyal friend and advocate. I've got complete trust in Rebecca and have sought out her advice in business matters as well -- I run my own small business, so it's a big deal to trust an outside opinion. Professionally, she's reliable, responsible, and trustworthy and I am confident she would be a wonderful houseguest.
I've had the great pleasure of working with Rebecca (on and off) for over five years. As a friend, she is truly inspiring in her lust for art, travel and everything in between. An exceptionally bright individual, Rebecca's life skills—from writing and photography to karaoke and tutoring—are as impressive as admirable. Funny and bright with an insatiable hunger for learning, I couldn't recommend a more awesome house guest!
