Aurelian loves Sophie and shares his life with her and Appollon and now with Hera as well (both labradors).
Both working in finance (and many other activities), passionated about this city

Response from Aurelien: Hi Fede, All, Since you want to make this “public” and I didn’t insist to do it but only you, let’s roll’ youth. Plus, before to start, I need to say, that I several times say apologize, sorry, thanks, I meant it, I do not spend time to type for fun, so Fede, since you called it, I came for you about this situation my family is living because of your rudeness. I’m not like you I can recognize my mistakes and try to be better, you should give it a shot one day, they say after you feel relief. The worst guests ever. If you like your home and your peace of mind, never ever let these guys stay at your apartment. 1. Forget about communication. They don't speak Spanish, nor English. They will only speak to you in French. It was weird because I made the deal with Aurelien (the dad) and the wife and the 20something year old son were the ones who came over (never gave me their phone number, and the one on their profile does not work) Why is that, I communicate with you by airbnb profile, this is supposed to be the best way when airbnb users are connected? They don't speak Spanish, that you say, Valentin at least speaks it a student and I ok rent a place alone in Barcelona for a month, so how come none of them wouldn't speak a single word of Spanish? Sophie lived a decade ago in Catalaogna as well years ago, she is not Spanish but speaks and gets almost everything, so again, who don't speak Spanish, you mean they don't communicate the way you want them to speak, or maybe you create here a all situation about their "weird personalities" -What is so weird to make a deal with me the father, and then to see Sophie and our son, as you guest. Indeed, i do not need to justify why Sophie cannot create or want to get a an airbnb profile, it is never mentioned that all the people entering the rental need to get an account to be "well known and visible by the community" i do have an account and I’m airbnb user, so what's the big deal, if you didn't like the fact that i was the account user why accepting to remove all your guests of January to book us in your flat? -never gave you a phone number... Allo??? Please they are French with French mobile contracts, made 4 o 5 phone calls to French school and public administration family in our country it costed them 200 Euros? Money, do you not get this concept Fede, i think you do with this upper level class rent you charge for this "amazing apartment" So for the telephone thing, they got now a local card since day 2, but after seeing the place, they were petrified and were asking me for help although i just couldn't do anything from here, except to book an hotel downtown, but leaving Fede his precious warranty plus the month rent. By the way, Thanks for calling us weird it shows how rude can be people sometimes, after cashing money! 2. They were very late on check-in and did not let me know (I waited for hours, and actually had to leave and leave the keys with someone else) Ok, this is point, this I plead guilty but again, what can i say, this is very common human mistake, this is why when I rent my place from time to time, i leave the keys to a neighbor, and the guests are warned before to arrive that they'll need to find the keys there. What is the big deal? It happened to me as a renter, as a landlord, plenty of times, but again, this point , i apologize in our name. 3. Somehow they managed to break the toilet (I guess they were very very strong) Please everyone reading this message, i own several places, i worked myself as a construction worker from time to time, I know few tricks to get kind of a toilet seat (things a lot of people do when they built cheap places, to minor the costs) . This is called, a cheap plastic chum bucket, fellow. This can be broken by a 6 years old kid, it was in a terrible state when they needed it, after a long trip, and guess what? When you need to go you need to go, so you seat, right? And what happens after? The plastic, of supposed, wood seat breaks! oh no? hey yes, and the landlord then " oh my goodness you just broke my million dollar Seat!!!" I know this trick it is called a beginning to a swindle, translation=> pretending all is brand new on pictures, makes it presentable and then find the perfect pigeon and let him actually break it order to directly Start to bleed people (warranty depot, extra fees added etc) So for the broken toilet, again if i had no money and i was broke, i would not play it that way so offensive, but i do believe Sophie and Valentin, and we would have paid or paid in order to fix it, if only they were responsible. Fact is we do not like to be bleeded in our family especially by a novice like you, anyone can see your game fom far away, now that I experienced it for the Cause. 4. On the first night they complained about not having a radiator at home, so I had to go buy one (we were at 10ºC and there were plenty of covers). I'll die when I see the electric bill. What do i do, i bring it, i plug it i explain even the bloody manual if needed, because aside business these remains humans folks right? So i never, i swear to what i have most sacred on my life any electricity extra charges, or price or new, old heater that i bring , even i make miles to bring it , i sweat and move myself up, i do not act like they were just here to pay and that is it. It is business relation but again, we are all human. Seems, with fede, things are a little bit different. So i'll not allow to comment your customs, or habits, or ideas of commercial relationship but still some got it some don't, and now Fede, i must say you'll have a stain on you perfect airbnb profile...Sorry, but you wanted to start. and since i cannot physically explain myself nor with you nor within airbnb offices, it is always very different to lie in front of some real person... i makes all more complicated to tell my frustration of being obliged to type a message to a virtual folk after 12 hours day of work and...Whatever. 5. Cleaning once a week was offered, but she (the wife) denied it. When I saw the apartment after a month it was so humid because they never opened the windows, dirty and the patio full of trash. My neighbors complained because of the smell. Cleaning was offered, ok, again, thanks for this generous offer Fede, but the guest can choose to refuse it, no matter what you consider, she refused that is a fact and you have to respect it, thanks as well. By the way, She got a name, as i name you Fede, Sophie remains the name of my wife, even if virtual please stick to your plan, be a perfect host, as you were supposed to be, gentle with ladies..anyway it seems not to be your kind nowadays. Place humid you said, exactly what i have been told by Sophie, she couldn't breath normally, but you are now saying it was never the case before...hmmm curious, this is a fifty, fifty, but people will make their mind when they'll enter as future guests, we'll wait and see! Neighbors complaints...let me laugh a bit, Sophie contacted me every single day, in the beginning, complained to me saying about neighbors extremely loud, shouting all the time, i wish i could be there to investigate myself about these "neighbors"... The smell, again, as she is telling me the truth and webcamed me showing me the place and the real view of the patio and so on, i can tell to people, this place never needed a lifting but total reconstruction, cleaning operation, but before to host people... 6. I always leave cereal and some cheese to my guests (just a snack). I also have a small wine cellar, and I told them to please not to drink them the nigh I met them when I went to fix the broken toilet. I guess they did not understand because they drank them all. This is the food argument now... i do let some food in the places i rent, funny, because as a guest or as an host, it is crystal clear if not specified as " do not touch the food" guest with help themselves, why not? Seems, you let the food, to tease people...again, with this museum impression you're giving me more and more about your place. Please dear guests have a look but do not touch... Ok, then, even if it is your standard, which i respect, please specify it in the contract, as you like all things to be squared. For the wine, i want to say to people, Sophie by webcam told me you offered them to drink it, this is insincere speech. She repeatedly mentioned it when i finally caught her yesterday online (she cannot get connection or to talk about it all the time, it is very unpleasant to speak about all except the journey) , Fede offered to drink it. 7. They say they hated everything, but somehow, they asked to book it until may because they were happy. This is what they wrote on Jan15 "Hi Fede, How are you? I got some news from Sophie, she seems happy with the condo. Thanks. How about i rent it from you, February to May included?" This is an interesting point. See Fede, if you rent through airbnb, everything becomes more personal, see for example how easy it is now for you to openly criticize my family publicly on internet, without any remorse doing this to people? who do you think you are hidden behind your keyboard, the master of a kind of court, judging " these people, how they are, weird, etc" please again, ok, this is a social network, but let me remain you, you have as well a moral role in this story, as an host, you have to keep professional, i didn't came to you and publish some Extremely rubbish things about you or your attitude or your place, i was making my mind up, i was upset and frustrated, waiting for your reaction... So, coming back to my reply to you=> why if we were so unhappy, aurelien, would email you and say the exact opposite. Have you ever been invited to a friends place, this is awful, they invited you, you want to remain polite, even if food is awful, or bedroom is a cave, you'll not say a word. Ok? Still following, not? This is called politeness man, i meant to be polite with you from the start. Even if my wife is more real, direct, she was telling you her feeling, was i in a position to criticize, Had i any other best choices? No, i was not able to find a good place on internet for them in February, i was only trying to get them a place to stay at during their journey, is this bad? Was i intimidated by you or something? Not at all, i just remained the same i was, calm, steady, polite, waiting to see if I could arrange things for everyone, although now i can see that you are not exactly speaking to me or from us the way you did when were expecting to be paid... 8. They left wet towels inside the washing machine. Still trying to remove the smell. ... Using bath towels, they wanted to clean it, you specifically told them not to wash it, so i do not know what to tell you...except i think you are covering yourself, backing your story with all things you can grab instead of admitting you took more than 1300€ of month rental for a place that do not worth it at all, this is my mistake to believe in the truth of your profile and your place pictures and our emails exchanges. I trusted you and you betrayed me lying about almost all the offer, safe, clean, cool place... 9. They left one day earlier and still have a copy of my keys. i was told this key was left behind, in the apartment, so please, check again i cannot come and help you to look for it all "the mess" you need to clean. 10. To top it off, I should have known the kind of people they were. They even asked to go outside airbnb and pay me that way. Here is the message: "Can we arrange between us. We'll pay you at the rate you mentioned on the website but without paying airbnb fees?, so directly to your account or cash upfront?" This is a relevant argument, i do not know what to reply except, ok. Fed, Ok, i proposed to pay you in cash, even if people reading this will be truly and utterly terrified I plead guilty. Airbnb is a service, i do pay for it, but if i can avoid to pay fees and feel safe giving each other words of trust then i'm ready to pay someone without being charged of currencies change (which are always bad for strangers arriving abroad rule number one of travelers, change money locally never from home) and without to pay fees to airbnb. I like the airbnb experience; i trust it as far as i got what i pay for. But afterwards, I can freely speak to Airbnb’s contacts? I can freely talk about money and rental with or without airbnb? There is no issue to say that airbnb is a service, and sometimes you just prefer not to pay it? Right? Or are we obliged to report all our bank accounts and operations to airbnb? Am I still free to use my own way, I can go to someone and to rent a place, paying him money in cash, he’ll make me a receipt if he likes to declare this income to his tax administration, and all remains, or did I perverted Fede or proposing to pay him out of your website? Is this a problem? Did I enforce any kind of international or locale law, French or Mexican regarding airbnb policy or something? In this situation, seeing the best place in all the choice that the airbnb community provides in Mexico, i was facing one doubt, which could be the place people seems to like, let's pick this one. I was so scared to make a bad choice and send them to an apartment that would be a disastrous place, and i would feel so guilty, i mean, none of us have ever been to Mexico, which i must say, Fede's experience apart, seems to be a real experience to have, extremely kind and welcoming people, from all Sophie s and Valentin's comments, Mexico, ciudad or all the places they have been so far rocks!!! for that at least i need to say thanks to Fed, living in you place , lead them to go out as often as possible and they discovered a magnificent people so far. Anyway, I tried no matter what to book this place, used all my old times English typing skills to bring this situation to mines, asking Fede if he could makes things rounds for us, and have us the place for the month. he did, i mean you did Fede, thanks for it. But this is a money relation in the same time. So i get you the price you asked, which i remind you wasn't the same on airbnb until i told you numerous times are you sure this is that cheap per month (I’ll not insult at this point of copying all the mails exchanges about the rate change story i'm tired and i deserve better than to spend my time to copy paste, even if you push it i'll add it) Paying through ARBNB or not doesn’t make us that "kind of people" we at your eyes are, we are just trying to save money, what's wrong? I mean, if airbnb reads this and i m sure they do as it is extremely important for them to keep an eye on who is who on this network; yes of course, you run a company, of course, please need to pay if they want to rent trough you website, but see a detail and it is in all the messages i had with fede before Sophie and Valentin checking in, Fede, wanted us to book it in February although we wanted it for January saying to me " i can arrange something and put the other guests that had already booked night in January, in another apartment... Who is now “that kind of people” Fede? Please Airbnb, if you read, from thousand miles away shall i trust all would write me a person i know only on internet when he says "yes of course your wife and son will be in the apartment in January the all month, i will not put them out, trust me etc," shall i trust this from Paris? I needed the place to be booked in our name paid with my credit card, if at least Fede could have the decency to tell the truth and admit it is not so pretty as well to say to us, no for a month lease paid in cash, but pay trough airbnb for a future month and arrive a month before the place will be yours?" I mean is this really serious, who is lying now? I could stay online and argue about this all night long, but I’m now tired, and sick of this situation, i only want one thing. Airbnb to contact me, i gave them my phone number and i can't wait to talk to them and let them know of how i feel and as well get some explanations on few points... But this will remain my little surprise to our gentle Fede, who seems to give a show on internet about all. Thanks for reading. Aurélien.
