I am a web developer and working on a startup. I do travel a lot and read books.
Would like to meet interesting people over here.
My friend Mimi and I loved our stay with the Shaily's! Vipul was unbelievably accommodating after our flight was delayed, then cancelled and later got us into Mumbai at 4 in the morning. The suburb the Shaily's live in is nice, quiet and a good break from Mumbai. It suited us well as we spent one day making the trek into downtown (roughly 1.5 hours in a taxi) and one day exploring the suburb of Bandra (roughly 1 hour away). The apartment is close to the airport (roughly .5 hours away) and there is a nice shopping area nearby to get groceries, get a sim card for your phone, and eat (definitely recommend the Great Punjab).
Vipul's wife made the best food we ate in Mumbai and our hosts were warm, available, interested in us and able to advise about everything from taxis to trains to restaurants and sightseeing to nightclubs. We had a fantastic time and the apartment is very comfortable, simple and spare.
If there were six stars to rate Vipul and Richa, I would give them seven! My friend Alex and I stayed with them for three days and we really felt at home. They are amazing hosts, very easy, warm and comforting. Richa is a wonderful cook and both were really interested in talking with us, they took very good care, helped us to get to know Mumbai. On arriving in the next place - a hotel - we definitely missed them! I highly recommend to stay at there place, it's a good part of Mumbai and easy to get from there to the interesting parts of the city, and it's close to the airport
Vipul and his wife are a very nice couple, we really enjoyed staying with them. They really made us feel at home, they introduced us to India, its amazing culture and food. And Richa is a great cook! They live in a nice little flat in a friendly suburb of Mumbai... a good way to escape from the madness of the city! Thank you for everything Vipul
Vipul and his wife were wonderful hosts.
My boyfriend and I arrived very late in the night (2 or 3am) but Vipul came out to meet us and our confused taxi driver and take us up to his place. His wife prepared some hot food for us before we slept and also when we woke up in the morning.
Staying with Vipul and his wife the first night we were in India was a great experience, and much more authentic than the hotel we headed off to afterwards.
[The only disclaimer I might add is that it was difficult to reach Vipul's place. This was probably the fault of our taxi driver (we got a prepaid cab from the airport) but we circled around for quite a bit and I racked up quite a phone charge as the driver talked to Vipul on my cell phone... international rates are expensive.]
Staying with Vipul and his wife has been a wonderful experience. They are extremely nice and take full care of your needs as a tourist. Not only they introduced me wonderfully to indian cuisine, but they also helped me prepare my trip and guided me in my first steps into the indian culture. A great gateway into this amazing country!
