The place is magical and quiet. A sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Jerusalem. Anja provided us with everything we needed and more. We are grateful for having spent our last days in rainy Israel in the romantic warm cottage in Ein Kerem. Highly recommended for artists and lovers of the universe .
We loved this house! My husband and I spent 4 nights at Anja’s house. The house has a convenient location with a gorgeous vista of the hills and terraces. The house is very private and quiet, with a completely private courtyard. We ate most of our breakfasts and a few dinners in the courtyard. From the house you can easily walk up the hill to small food markets, restaurants, a falafel stand, and the sights of Ein Karem. You can access the Jerusalem Trail just a few minutes walk from the house, and we took this trail up the hill (about 40 minutes) to the Mt Herzl light rail station. The walk also leads you to Yad Vashem. The location is very convenient for points east. It is an easy drive to Abu Ghosh and a pleasant drive to Tel Aviv/Jaffa.
We appreciated the comfortable bed, plentiful towels and sheets, upgraded bathroom with Jacuzzi and beautiful tiles, and light-filled rooms. The kitchen is small but totally adequate with a toaster-oven, 4-burner cooktop, and fridge. The house has parking and excellent heating (we were there in November). Anja’s large property is accessed by climbing down about twenty charming stone steps.
Anja and her husband are great hosts, and answered our questions within a few minutes of sending an email or text message. They invited us to stop by their house for anything we needed, and were always helpful and kind. Their 2 daughters are delightful! I highly recommend this wonderful house. Thank you, Anja, for sharing your home. And, thank you for the welcome wine and chocolate!
Words cannot express the beauty and privacy of this place. The peaceful and picturesque sitting corner outside under the olive and pecan trees. The breathtaking view over the Jerusalem hills, with the sounds of nature. The beautifully designed interior, with all the extras you can think of. Everything you might need, except of food (which you can fet in a small store two munutes away) is there and Anja is an extremly friendly host, fast and furious to help with any problem that might arise and a wonderful wine chooser. I loved it and will certainly return again.
the place is the best place that we were ever.. the pictures can't descirbe how great is this place.
the hosts are the best.
it was a romantic and intimite vacation
I went to Ein Kerem for a personal retreat and this was the perfect setting. Anya's house and gardens are magical. They are so much prettier in person as the plants and vines have definitely filled in. I was also lucky that the last of the grapes were hanging on the vines and I was encouraged to enjoy them which I did. The rustic setting is peaceful and inspiring. I barely left the area except to go on hikes, long walks or to pick up fruits and vegetables from the corner shop or tofu and raw vegetable crackers from the health food store. Oh, there was that fabulous dinner at Mala.
Anja and her husband are warm, welcoming and very accommodating, making sure I had everything I needed. I could not be more pleased with my experience and hope to visit there again some day.
Beautiful apartment with private garden.
Great location – accessible, yet quiet and surrounded by nature.
We had a great time.
Anja was fantastic, communicating with her before and during our stay at her place It's a fantastic house, great furniture, lot of taste, plenty of light due to the large windows very quiet place too in the quiet Ein Kerem village and yet so convenient to commute to major sites of interest in Jerusalem
Definitely a place i would come back too and warmly recommend to everyone
Anjas place in Ein Kerem is super cool. You will get a separate house, with jacuzzi, local wine on the house, warm music on your arrival and helpful Anja who will wake up for you in the middle of the night to explain taxi driver how to find a place. Sure its not the central location in the city where everything is around, its more for those who enjoy quite in the evenings and nature all around. In the same time a nice restaurants and bars (even hipsterry a bit) are just 5 min walking from the house. In one day you can find fast ways how to get to town, check out all the historical and tourist crowded places and in the evening in the same speed return to house, calmly hidden in the hills. Its hard to imagine a better location in Jerusalem.
Superb views from bed, private garden, lovely solitude for reading, writing, relaxing while I had a week off between sessions of an archaeological dig. Bed is very comfortable, village center is short walk away. I had made a long list of things to do in Jerusalem but never left Ein Kerem. Let the sound of cooing doves, a distant rooster, birdsong and serenity of this place wash over you. Anja was a responsive host, as were her husband and two lovely daughters.
Will definitely return.
The listing was as cozy and cute as advertised. Plus the views are spectacular.
Anja is the best airbnb host we’ve interacted with. She welcomed us and gave us a quick orientation of the area. She gave us a great overview of the area and was always around to answer questions.
Right from the outset, we really felt at home in her nice place and she provided snacks and local wine for us. Ein Karem itself is a special place. There were many local historic sites within walking distance, several restaurants that were 5-minutes from Anja’s place. Going to other parts of Jerusalem is easy & cheap: simply use (website hidden) to get to the Mount Herzl stop of the Jerusalem Light Rail.
Anja and Yoav are great hosts. They are friendly, and helpful. The two units they have are romantic, cozy and comfortable. The garden is looking over the Jerusalem forest full with lovely flowers and herbs. Its a perfect place for those who seek a special stay
