Hey, I’m Simon!

San Juan, Puerto Rico · Member since November 2011

My name is Simon Hawk and I am a product designer, photographer and marketing consultant. I regularly practice yoga, find balance in meditation and I am an avid runner. I love to travel almost as much as I love to host travelers. I have dedicated my life to helping others by creating safe havens and offering assistance to travelers while on their respective journeys.

I manage multiple properties in Puerto Rico remotely via Airbnb and am restoring a guest house called the House of Zen. After 2 years focusing on Airbnb and hosting over 200 guests I recently took a 4 month backpacking trip to do some exploring and bring back some inspiration from my travels. I traveled to Miami, New York, Pennsylvania, Morocco, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, Greece and Denmark. I brought back some beautiful lamps and artwork to display in our guesthouse.

More importantly I gained a better perspective on how it is to be treated as a traveler in a foreign land and a guest in others homes. I have used this knowledge to better my experience as an Airbnb Host to make my listings more welcoming to newcomers.

My experiences with AirBnB have been wonderful and I am so grateful for the places I have had the good fortune to stay in. It is an honor and a pleasure to return the favor to my fellow travelers by being able to offer beautiful locations in unique places.

I would be happy to give you recommendations and tips to improve your experience in my areas. It also gives me great joy to hear the stories of others travels and descriptions of where they are from.

I believe in the golden rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
