I'm a teacher of ESL. I don't preface greetings to people with 'Hey'.
I'm monolingual but aware that most of the world's people run on different software from mine. I am good at getting the gist. And giving it, of course.
I came to Airbnb seeking alternatives to expensive, bland hotels and loneliness when in strange places abroad.
Interested in everything. I can listen as well as talk to most kinds of people.
I dislike most forms of popular culture, mainly because of the noise.
When in a strange city I look for a quiet room with a clean bed, minimal light leakage at night, a swimming pool or gym, botanical gardens or green space, a library, an art gallery, fresh food, local fleamarkets and protection from the weather.
Most people would describe me as quiet, but able to entertain with strong and unconventional opinions when asked for them.
I expect my tidiness and calmness would be received well in most establishments.
One quote of many possible:
HAROLD: You sure have a way with people.
MAUDE: Well, they're my species.
Sometimes I'm Harold, other times I'm Maude.
Some of my cultural heroes (the internationally known ones rather than my parochial Australian ones) may help you to get a fix:
W S Burroughs
and there are many others.
I'm not part of "The Book of Face" because of the totally insecure, uncontrollable way that site uses people's personal data. However all details above are correct and I am open to phone or "Sky Pipe" conversations (including video "Sky Pipe" sessions) prior to bookings. (As users of this site would know certain website names are not publishable here. I'm sure you get the gist.)
