Richard greeted me with some homemade miso soup when I arrived at his apartment. He was very hospitable. Thanks Richard!
Good spot to crash. Richard was more than welcoming and made coffee every morning!
Richard was very hospitable. The subway was nearby. Not a bad option for someone passing through NYC.
Cool, funky creaky old place. Nice host. Good for busy travelers looking for just a place to crash at night at a cheap price; not ideal for travelers looking for privacy.
Richard is a very welcoming host, and his apartment is cosy, aptly equipped and well situated near the Myrtle/Wyckoff subway stop.
Accepting my somewhat desperate call for help after my previous plans fell through, he certainly got me off to a good start on my first visit to New York City!
I had a fun weekend in NY and Richard helped a lot. He was a very kind host. If you are looking for a super suite and no more than that then this is not your place. Richard's place offers other more valuable things for a curious traveler and for a music fan. If you want to discover the NY jazz music scene Richard's suggestions will be of great value. Sleeping in a music room of a new york musician definitive has some advantages. The apartment is very well connected to Manhathan by the L subway.
Richard is extremely kind and helpful. His place is nice and and quiet, but the most important thing is: it will make you feel like home. I was very happy. This place is close to the subway and It's easy to get to Manhattan.
Richard got back to me about 15 minutes after I made my reservation request.
I had an amazing time!
I would definitely recommend this place to other airbnbers!
I really apreciated Richard's hospitality and last-minute acceptance of my reservation!!!....I HAD COMPLETELY RUN OUT OF OPTIONS...when i got the email from him that i could stay for my very last night in NYC!!!!....thanks for being a lifesaver Richard!!! :-) He even welcomed me with a hot cup of tea at 1am in the morning!!!....GREAT HOST!!!
Richard's place was perfect for me as I was working at a nearby hospital for many hours. I slept comfortably and the room had great energy. An eclectic and intelligent person, Richard was a wonderful host. While I did'nt have time for the piano lesson, maybe one day I will. The place is quiet and close to the train station. I highly recommend it.
Richard was very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. The space is perfect for one person on the go. Close to the subway in a quiet neighborhood this is the perfect spot for an independent person to stay when visiting New York.
I am a friend and neighbor of Richard. He is a great guy and lots of fun! We met in Tompkins Square Park one summer day, bonded over music- classical, jazz, original, etc and have been frieds ever since. He now lives on the third floor of the building that I live in. We sometimes hear each other playing our respective pianos. I know he is a great host, and you would enjoy staying with him. He'll probably even let you play his piano :-)
Richard can share great music, stories and haunts in the village as well as a comfy futon.
