I'm originally from Massachusetts, was educated (briefly) at Northeastern University and M. I. T, was once a staff artist at The Christian Science Monitor newspaper in Boston, and have been a professional fine artist since 1992. My wife and I moved to California in 1999, first to Lake Tahoe, then to the bay area where we now live. Charlene works at the University of California Office of the President in Oakland and I have a studio in Oakland. As well as my own painting, I teach bimonthly outdoor painting workshops. My avocational interests include music, books, travel and conversation. Movies, too.
