As a host, I'll be absent, so you'll have the place all to yourself. It is a great house and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

We just returned from spending a week in Mary's log cabin and the experience was wonderful. The log cabin had everything you could want, was dog-friendly and incredibly peaceful. We spent our days exploring Kentucky and nights relaxing in the cabin. The nearby town of Danville had an excellent coffee shop which we stopped in each morning for coffee and hot chocolate before setting off for our day's adventure. A perfect retreat!
The log cabin is in a beautiful location outside of Danville. It is a great base to explore the area and the nearby distilleries. The accommodations are very comfortable and well equipped with everything you would need for a short or extended stay. Danville is a nice small town with a few good restaurants and a great bakery.
Mary was very responsive and helpful with questions. I would recommend this place without reservations!
We had a wonderful stay at the Cabin. The property is absolutely beautiful and the cabin is so charming. It is decorated with such interesting items, we spent time just walking around the cabin admiring it all. The contact with Mary (the host) was top notch, she answered all questions/concerns promptly. She messaged us after arrival to make sure that everything was ok. She has a lot of local information for you to view at the cabin with restaurant names, menus etc. If you have the chance to stay at her place, do not pass it up! We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
The log cabin was great. Everything you could want in a vacation rental home. Not too remote and very easy access to Danville. The house is definitely one of a kind and one we will won't forget. Very spacious and full of interesting furniture and decor. Mary will have it clean and ready for you.
Danville and the surrounding areas have plenty of day trip activities to offer. And if you are into bicycling, the roads are great to ride all around the Daville area. Scenic, great roads and low traffic.
We had a wonderful time - the cabin is beautiful, and the land is amazing. A great retreat from everyday life! It was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals, and the firepit outside was awesome. Mary herself is super nice and friendly.
We had a great time at cabin in the blue grass! Though it was just two of us, and the place sleeps 8, we felt very comfortable and cozy. The town of danville was small, so we opted to head into Lexington for dinner and a movie one night. Cheapside restaurant in Lexington was great! Back in danville we visited the red rooster cafe from Mary's recommendation...good little breakfast spot. Burkes bakery (also on Mary's list of things to do) was awesome!! Don't leave danville without grabbing some pastries!
We had a great time at Mary's cabin. It was just as we expected from the pictures - modern, comfortable and spacious - and the location was close to Danville but very much in the country. Beautiful!
We'll definitely come back. Thanks Mary!
Mary's place is amazing. I loved it in the photos and in real life it was better. Mary's information sheet was extremely helpful especially about the Marksbury Farm where we bought the most delicious fresh raw milk...we don't get that in Australia. The cottage was a delight to walk into. It was clean and quaint. The decor ideally suited the style of the home. The kitchen was awesome and for the first time on our trip we cooked delicious duck eggs with sour dough and listened to the chorus of birds outside in the morning. Just what the doctor ordered as R & R. This cottage is everything it claims to be. Thanks Mary. It was with sadness that we had to move on. Thanks for the memories. :>)
Our stay at the Log Cabin in the Bluegrass was wonderful. We loved the peace and seclusion of coming back across the bridge to our own little slice of heaven after our daily excursions in the surrounding areas.
The house was very comfortable for the two of us. We had some crazy weather, so snuggling on the big sofa in front of the tv...and still be able to see all the wonderful birds and bunnies on the lawn outside, was a treat. There are no movies at the house, but the CVS and the Walmart were fairly convenient for REDBOX rentals.
We cooked most of our meals at home and the kitchen was well stocked and the dishes and glassware are lovely.
Danville is a great town and the folks are super nice. We definitely feel like we made some friends and had a lot of fun hanging (email hidden) at Mallards (good for wings and pizza or a nice local farmed steak) or participating in the events at V the Market. We even drove back the week after our stay to take another Wednesday night Cocktail Class at V the Market. Such a fun group; we will miss them.
Mary was great to communicate with and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. I would love to stay at the cabin again.
We would definitely love to come back.
Mary leaves no details overlooked. We arrived in Kentucky full of local knowledge thanks to her friendly and informative confirmation email and responses to our questions. The cabin is absolutely charming and beautiful, a piece of American history. We visited some distilleries, and shopped at some local markets, then cooked in the ample, modern kitchen while looking at the Colonial hearth. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable, and well designed, as are the living and dining rooms. Very stylish! and so clean! Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, surrounded by pasture, cattle, a river, and greenery. Peaceful, with a true getaway feeling, while being not too far from town and the distilleries, for those interested in the historic Bourbon Trail.
So great! Can't wait to return. A truly remarkable place!
