I (Thea) am a Canadian and have been living in Waikiki for over a year with my American husband who is an ex-police officer and currently a commerical airline pilot. We are both friendly and outgoing people. An attorney by trade, I enjoy hosting people in one of the most beautiful places in the world. We enjoy sailing in Mexico, Central America and Panama. I adore my Devon Rex cat. I am a beginner longboard surfer; perfect for the waves down the street. If the waves are too big, I practice in the whitewash or go for a run along the Ala Wai or through Ala Moana Park. I am a singer and practice my vocal exercises almost every day. Randy loves to play the guitar on the lanai. I am starting to learn to play the ukelele.
My favorite guests so far have been over 30 years of age, polite, communicative, respectful, active, clean, trustworthy and interested in sight-seeing. They love to explore the island, do Honolulu walks, spend the day at the beach, take the bus to Pearl Harbor, hike Diamond Head and snorkel at Hanama Bay. They try the local food and restaurants, picnic at Fort DeRussy or hit the cheap happy hour food and drinks all over Waikiki (Top of Waikiki, Chart House, PF Chang's, Yard House, Il Lupino... just to name a few). They realize they are staying in my home so they try not to be too intrusive while also informing me of their plans so I know more or less, what time they are coming and going.. These types of guests could easily be my friends.
My life motto is "cut her loose!"; referring to a sail boat tied up to a dock of course.
