I am living in New York City area for several years but I was born in Europe. I enjoy traveling and meeting new people.
I took an uber from Newark for less than $20. I arrived early and Magda allowed me to stop by to change and leave my bags before check in. I breifly met with Magda. The place was nice and clean and as it was described. The light rail station was a short walk away, which took you to a connection train to get into NYC. It is easy to navigate! The location was perfect, the people on the street answered questions when I asked. Everyone was friendly in the area. I travled alone and it was only my second time visiting NYC. I stayed for 4 days 3 nights.
The room was quiet and clean. Magda is also very quick to respond if you need anything. The neighborhood is a little iffy at night, but overall I would definitely come back.
The host was great in providing us details for our check in. The area was generally good.
We all enjoyed our stay at Magda's place. It was exactly as described and everything we needed to know about the apartment we were told. It was clean and comfortable. The only trouble we encountered was the distance from Manhattan. There was a lot of time and money spent on transportation. But in all that was the only flaw of our stay. We would stay here again.
The neighborhood is very good which is very safe and quiet. Walking to Path statetion is lasting 15-20 miniutes. The room is clean and comfort. The kichen is very good. You can cook by yourself. The kichen ware is complete. It is good for a family. The host is nice and kind. It is a great experience to live here.
easy to get to NYC, clean place.
Loved the little room!! It was perfect for a weekend stay. Directions on how to get in was very useful!!! Loved that there was free parking around the blocks.
Magda made the check-in/check-out process seamless. The town home has two sections. Our section (brown door) had 3 rooms (with AC), two shared bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. It was clean and comfortable.
The location was as close to NYC as advertised, (22 mins to WTC via Holland Tunnel, 6 minutes to Liberty Ferry via Liberty State Park). However, Street parking was a challenge, and I would not recommend walking alone outside after dark. Use Uber or other door-to-door taxi services.
The apartment was easy to find and the instructions were very helpful for getting in(got in around 1am with no issues). It was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked if you're planning on cooking. There are some convenience stores nearby but not really much else. You'll see the other neighbors often but they pretty much keep to themselves. If you're going into to the NYC, we took an uber to the Grove Street station and were in the city in about 30 mins(get an unlimited Metro Card). The station is downtown and there were lots of shops and restaurants. There was also a farmer's market and music in the evenings. We paid about $5 on average for our uber trips during non peak hours. Or you can catch the Ferry from Wayne street or Liberty Landing($7) into Manhattan and it is totally worth it for the photo opp alone. Takes about 15 mins.
I didn't catch the bus, but it's simple enough to do. We flew into Newark Int'l and the ride was about 20-25 mins and you'll definitely want to do uber or catch a train because the cab was $55(with tolls) and the driver wanted us to direct him to the apartment. Cab service was deplorable each time I had to take one. We got in around 1am.
The wifi was fast but we did have some connection issues which I didn't really fuss about because we also had a hotspot. There wasn't an ironing board or bath towels, a minor inconvenience at most. Magda is really easy to communicate with if you do need her, but we pretty much found everything okay. It's pretty quiet at night and even though we didn't walk, we did see other people walking so it's up to you. There's also a great little reading nook in the living room that isn't pictured and so nice for privacy. The shower had really good pressure and temp. We didn't have to use the sofa beds because the bed was pretty big but three people could sleep comfortably. Magdalena also provided a lot of brochures for planning activities. I wouldn't recommend staying if you're looking to explore the neighborhood or walk around a lot. There isn't much to see in the neighborhood and the train station is a bit far away. There are also stairs in the apartment that are pretty steep, so if you have considerable trouble with them then this won't work for you.
Overall after several long and exciting days in NYC, this apartment was perfect to come back to.
