I am an artist, presenter and developer of creative arts programs for people of all ages and abilities. As an alternative forest farmer using sustainable and organic practices and permaculture, I am using my skills to create a working farm that is home to a variety of fiber producing animals who contribute their fleeces to developing yarn, and roving for knitters, weavers and spinners. I am very interested in folklore and herbs so I am establishing an herb garden which is now in it's third season. I like to work in the garden and use vertical and raised gardens for vegetables and berries. The farm keeps a small but productive flock of chickens which provide us with fresh eggs daily. The goal is to create a very small self sustaining footprint utilizing less than two of the fourteen and a half acres that comprise the entire property. It is a great adventure! I love to cook, read, paint and be with nature and I love to travel and have lived in and visited many places. I think it's wonderful to have company and visit and trade stories of adventures and experience and it is also important to have quite time, to unwind, to be alone and with nature. I hope you will come visit. Pitch in if you like and learn something about fiber animals and alternative farming or just kick back enjoy the quite beauty of the forest and surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.
