Single professional guy with a fondness for travel.
I started backpacking after university and haven't really stopped yet. Over the last 20 or so years I've managed to visit more than half the capital cities on earth and plenty of obscure places too, so I'm often acting as a travel agent for friends who are looking for travel ideas. I'm gradually running out of new, interesting places to visit, but there are still a few unfulfilled places on my list.
I'll eat most things, and drink most things too, (lessons never really learned), although I'm a lousy cook (apart from Indian food which is the one thing I can do properly).
When I'm visiting a new place, I tend to spend comparatively little time seeing the main sights, but most of my time wandering around the place. I love walking and cycling, but hate driving.
Musically, I like a wide variety of stuff depending upon my mood; Bosa Nova to sit on the beach, Opera in an art gallery and deep house music in the gym, but I'm more likely to be listening to political and cultural discussion podcasts.
I mostly travel alone, but that's more due to circumstance than choice - whenever my plans fit with someone else then I'm more than happy to join up with someone else, but if there's nobody else that I know who wants to visit the (often obscure) places that I do, then I won't let it stop me.
I make an effort to visit at least 3 new countries per year and return to at least 3 that I have not been to for over 10 years. I think that helps to keep things fresh and exciting, don't you?
I intend to act like a 35 year old for the rest of my life! it seems like a good age to be.
