Timothy was a wonderful host! The schoolhouse was such a warming place to stay at and Grahamsville is such a sweet little town. It was great to have a break from the city life and Tim made us feel right at home. He had groceries and toiletries ready for us, as well as directions and information on local cafes and hiking trails. Exploring the country was positive for the mind and spirit as well. We can't wait to stay here again soon!
What a wonderful getaway! Tim's Schoolhouse is precisely as described, and more... A beautiful retreat that's even more charming and well-appointed than what's hinted at in the photos. Tim has thought of everything and outfitted the place to perfection. If he doesn't have it, you don't need it. We escaped the city for a long weekend and enjoyed nights by the campfire, exploring the creek and woods, cooking in the well-stocked kitchen & 2 outdoor grills, napping in the comfy/romantic bed, plugging our music into the awesome sound system... and ignoring our phones. We never turned on the TV but I'm sure that's great too. Eureka Cafe & Market across the street has oodles of foodie provisions and anything you may have forgotten, and Tim left a gift of cookies, handmade soap and maple syrup for us. Just go and enjoy. I didn't want to leave. Thanks Tim!
We had a great weekend at the School House. Tim is a great communicator and was available for any questions throughout. The house is comfortable, clean, quiet and exactly as described. Looking forward to our next stay.
We had a lovely time at Tim's warm and cozy Schoolhouse. Tim was extremely communicative and helpful, providing us with very detailed instructions and many great recommendations of where to go within the area. The property is well maintained and had everything we could possibly need (and more). We really had a wonderful time and recommend to anyone looking to get away for a few days. Looking forward to returning next year!
Tim's place was fantastic, and Tim was very nice and helpful throughout the whole process. The cabin was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook and entertain, the airstream was a comfortable (our friends slept there and said it was great), and the property is beautiful. The area is very pretty, too—we hiked and then went swimming at a nearby swimming hole. We were looking for a rural getaway/cabin, and this was the perfect place.
Tim was super accomidating with are arrival time. He helped to arrange everything, even when I forgot. His place was perfect for our trip and he described the perfect place for a quick bite (conveniently across the street). I would stay here again in a heart beat.
Tim's place is fantastic, great renovation of an old schoolhouse, open, light filled space, heaps of room and comfortable beds. Tim is a great communicator, and made the stay welcoming and easy. I definitely recommend this listing.
We had a great time at the schoolhouse! The place is really gorgeous, even better than on the pictures. Tim was unfortunately not there during our stay, but he did his best to help with the little problem we had. It's a bit far from France, but if we had the opportunity, we would definitely go back,to try the airstream! Thanks Tim, and I hope the water pump was fixed all right! Cécile
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Great place to stay. Everything was as it appeared in photos. It was a great place for relaxing. There is a cafe/grocery across the road so you really don't have to leave if you don't want to.
I've known Tim for so long I consider him family at this point. Tim is reliable, punctual, highly intellectual and has a great sense of humor to boot! He's just an all around stand up guy. The Trout House is the perfect place to go to get away from the fast pace of the city. Although not so obvious from the exterior, its contemporary and stylish, and equipped with all the necessary modern amenities. Tim incorporates flea market finds with a mix of contemporary furniture for a modern eclectic flair. Tim transformed the old schoolhouse from a forgotten and unloved structure to the comfy cozy country getaway that now exists. As a bonus, there's plenty of green lawn to play bocce, football or badminton by day, and build bonfires and star gaze by night. Its a lovely escape from the day to day.
I've been Tim friend for many and many years (...10?) and I can easily say he is one of those rare charming gentlemen, smart businessman, reliable friend, dedicated father, generous and loyal friend. I haven't had the chance yet to be his host in Westchester (but indeed at his Soho residence many times in the past) but now that I see what he created over there I can add "great designer" (as I am one)! I can totally see him as the greatest host of Westchester County and, on a different note, ...uhm... Tim, when can I come visit? I totally am a fan of that vintage mobile home!!! Awesome job!! 5 stars from me, I'd highly recommend a stay with him. Monica.
