Hi, my name's Andrew and I used to be a headteacher in London. Now I'm a writer and screenwriter working from home. I love Brighton and keen for visitors to experience all that the city has to offer. I have two dogs. They are terriers called, Pookie and Chompers. They love people but not so keen on other dogs so only human guests please.
I need to catch a glimpse of the sea at least every day. Walking the dogs on the beach, meeting up with friends for a coffee, watching a film at the Duke of York's, struggling with a crossword and a show at the Komedia are some of my favourite activities. My top five places in Brighton are the Dome, The Pavilion, The West Pier, The North Laine and the kissing sculpture on the seafront. I'm very excited about the i360 tower that's growing every day.
Much as I love Brighton, I need to visit a Greek island at least once a year, as well as have a city break.
I LOVE guests to feel at home. I provide guests with breakfast of cereal, juice, toast, spreads, fruit, tea and coffee. Although I wouldn't be offended in the slightest if you decide to go out for breakfast. Billie's, Green Chair and Bill's are within five minutes walk.
If you would like to use my kitchen for cooking, preparing food or eat a takeway at my dining room table, feel free.
I provide towels for guests and if you've forgotten something, just ask. I even have a hair dryer even though I'm bald!
People visit Brighton for amazing reasons. Whether it's attending a stand-up comedy course, learning to be an aerial dancer, setting up an art installation at a local gallery, attending a conference or a wedding, performing at a gig, paragliding at Seven Sisters, attending a graduation ceremony or a tattoo convention, attending a tea-blending session, participating in a paranormal ghost-hunt or travelling from the other side of the world to meet a new grandchild, I love to hear about it. The reason to beat at the moment is Greg, who flew all the way from Melbourne to watch his favourite band at the Brighton Dome. Stop press! Now matched by Sarah who travelled from Swansea to select her wedding dress which she will wear when she gets married later in the year in a treehouse in Seattle.
I've enjoyed having visitors from Australia, Iran, France, Germany, Thailand, Russia, Denmark, Japan, Norway, Finland, Singapore, Pakistan, Spain, Netherlands, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Sweden, USA, Belgium, China, Portugal, South Korea, Taiwan, Slovakia, Italy, Poland, Austria, Turkey, St Kitts, Israel, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Brunei and Armenia as well as guests from all over the UK.
