We'll not be the first to say Ballyduff is the most glorious place to stay. Bred could not have been kinder; the house could not have been lovelier; its setting could not have been finer; the welcome could not have been warmer. Indeed during our brief stay the only thing obviously missing was *Jack's back leg, and as it turned out he got along just perfectly.
* Jack is the friendliest tripedal dog I have ever met.
Ballyduff House was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. Breda is a great host and her staff is very eager to please (more so than the 4 star corporate enterprise we had just come from). Upon arrival, Breda greeted us with coffee and tea, gave us an overview of the area, and then later that night provided a glass of wine, which turned into a couple bottles as we talked politics and technology with an Irish couple late into the night. The breakfast was the best "full Irish" that we had on our trip. If you want to experience Irish hospitality, interact with other guests, and dine/relax in a 300-400 year old setting, I highly recommend Ballyduff House.
This is the ideal location if you want to escape to the country and enjoy warm hospitality. The setting of the house makes it extremely quite and restful. We enjoyed two great nights here, along with substantial breakfasts. Breda is a caring host.
The Ballyduff house was the best airbnb experience I've had! I stumbled upon this listing, looking for something unique to conclude my trip touring around Ireland. The Ballyduff house is GORGEOUS and so worth the extra short drive out of our way.
Breda is a wonderful host, welcoming us with open arms and giving us a quick history of the house and generations who have lived there. The room was amazing, felt like we were living at an old manor home. Everything was clean and well kept.
Breda offered great recommendations on things to do and invited us to enjoy some time in their library by the fire that night. To finish off our stay, we were treated to a wonderful Irish breakfast with service comparable to a restaurant,
I would recommend everyone traveling Ireland who is able to spend at least one night here. Wish I could have stayed longer!
Accueil très chaleureux. Chambres très confortables. Petits déjeuners copieux et de très bonne qualité.
Ballyduff is fantastic as is host Breda. The gardens and grounds are wonderful, and the building provides a great peak into the past. Highly recommended.
Breda is an exceptional host. She went out of her way to make this booking work. Her home is amazing and is the perfect place to stay. Breakfast was exquisite.
Breda was an amazing host and so welcoming, she greeted us with tea and a fire in the gorgeous library and in the morning we had a huge breakfast. The home was beautiful and tucked away on a tranquil farm.
Breda was very good at responding to us before we came. She is a lovelylady and bent over backwards to make us feel at home. Her attention to detail for the room accommodation was wonderful. We had a great visit, we wish we could have stayed longer.
Staying in Breda's home was an absolute delight. Her beautiful and cozy home is over 300 years old, and has so much amazing family history. My boyfriend and I felt like we were in an episode of Downton Abbey! Breda was very kind and welcoming, and immediately offered us cup of tea by the fire when we arrived. In the morning, Breda made us the most delicious Irish breakfast, which we ate by the window in the dining room, overlooking the river at the back of the house. It was beautiful! Should you find yourself in Ireland, please make time to stay at Breda's...it will be very worth your while!
