This is kind of laughable? We only saw (and spoke with) the host for a total of 5 minutes (when we first arrived). We were not thrilled with this property, although the views were insanely good, and really wanted to stay and enjoy, our concerns outweighed the view, mainly because of no air conditioning in 90 degree weather and no locks on the door. Paranoid, sure (We were tourists from FL that had never been to LA, worried about someone, or something getting into the room because of the no lock, and having to have all the windows open) Horrible? We left the place how we found it. We left peacefully at 7am in the morning. Still very respectful of your rules of the property. Complaining? I left a negative review because we weren't happy with the property. I would only expect an unpleasant review, but it seems pretty extreme as not everyone will be happy with your property, and we were those people. (Try looking at hotel reviews, not all are perfect, being hot and uncomfortable can do that to people, especially when you paid good money) Insane? In our opinion, we had very realistic concerns. To defame my character is low. We are two people from a small town in FL, going to one of the biggest cities in the country. It's disappointing that someone couldn't understand our concerns about safety. I wish our host would have been more understanding of that. Our other Cali Airbnb host had no problems or qualms with us.
If I could write an honest review of my self in this situation it probably would have gone like this, "Renters left the property due to safety concerns and lack of air conditioning. Unfortunately they left without explaining any of their concerns with us. They should have communicated their issues and maybe we could have come up with a solution. Their decision to leave was a little rash but sometimes things don't work out."
