Dorit is a welcoming, very interesting and attentive host. Her apartment is in an upscale building in Ramat Aviv about two blocks from the Ramat Aviv mall (which has a large grocery store) and a short drive (30 minute walk) from the beautiful Baruch Beach.
The morning of the day,Friday, we were supposed to arrive, Dorit called to say that the air conditioning had gone out. She offered to let us cancel but said she had purchased fans and that there was a breeze.. We decided to stay and Dorit offered to reduce the rent. The a/c was repaired on Sunday and worked well.
When we arrived Dorit was waiting for us outside. She guided us to the underground parking and help us bring our luggage up on the elevator to her 7th floor apartment. She welcomed us with a bowl of fruit, snacks, food in her refrigerator and a wonderful automatic cappuccino maker.
The apartment is where she lives (when not renting it out) and is well equipped for daily living. It is roomy. It has two bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Closet and drawer space for clothing is short but adequate . There are two flat screen TV's and computer and printer and WiFi that worked well..
There are upscale appliances (dish washer, refrigerator, microwave, cloths washer and dryer. There is even a Jacuzzi bathtub (we did not try it). The queen size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. It has an electronic adjustable frame where you could raise the back and legs. There were plenty of towels for the bath.
The apartment was clean, no dust, no bugs, but the walls were notably marred. This detracted from its overall atmosphere. Dorit was such a nice person that I took it upon myself to buy "Magic Eraser" at the mall and spent some time cleaning marks off the walls. When we left I think the walls looked quite nice for future guests.
I wish we could give Dorit 7 stars!
The aparentmet is nice and has much more room than any other 2 bedroom aparemtnets we stayed in. It is located in a very high scale neighbourhood in Tel Aviv, with easy access and reserved parking (very important in Tel Aviv).
The aparement is well maintained and is fully and nicely furnished and decorated. It is located in a gated complex, in a building with security personell and swimming pool. Very nice.
But the real story is not the aparement - it is the host.
We have stayed in dozens of vacation rentals over the last decades and Dorit was the most accomodating host we ever encountered.
A few days before our check-in we got mail from Dorit asking us to move in in the evening instead of the customary 3:00PM. She explained that the previous guests asked for a little more time due their flight schedule. Hosts typically would insist in the check-out times if there is another guest coming so we found this extra effort to accomodate the previous guests pretty peculiar. With a bit of a frown we agreed since change worked for us fine.
Once we checked in to the nice apartment the shoe was suddently on the other foot. We were about to check-out to visit northern Israel for 3 days and as a family of 6 we had tons of laggage and we sugguged with the weight. Dorit offered us to most of our massive suitcases (8!) in the apartment for the duration . After the 3 nights visit to the Galilee we checked in with Dorit again for our last night in Israel and realized that we'll have a significan gap between our check out time of 11:00AM and our midnight flight back to the US. Dorit again offered to allow us to stay until the evening for no extra pay and really made our last day in Israel very relaxed and valuable.
These wornderful gestures made a huge difference for us.
Dorit is truly a rare host. Thank you!
Dorit is a very nice and generous host. This is a spacious apartment that has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. there is space for more people to sleep in the area by the TV in the lounge. The whole apartment is in good condition and has high quality appliances and fittings which is very welcome. We enjoyed the use of the gym. We hosted and cooked a friday night dinner for eleven people, and the facilities and kitchen etc were very easy to work with. We stayed the middle two weeks of August and very much appreciated the air condition (but a bit noisy). We rented a car and found the location to give easy access to the freeways and surrounding towns and cities. We walked to the local Tel Baruch beach, but this took around 30 minutes. A wonderful experience overall, but We would suggest that this owner occupied apartment provides considerably more clutter-free storage space and surface areas for tenants' usage, including kitchen, fridge and utility room etc. We would highly recommend for those seeking a comfortable modern relaxed place to stay within easy driving of Tel Aviv, Herzelia, Ra`anana, etc
Excellent location for tel avivi university - I was working there for a week and it was super convenient, a short walk. Dorit is a knowledgeable and very attentive host - she was always a few minutes away by cell phone. Excellent Internet, near the large tel aviv mall. Serviceable gym, Good laundry, fairly quiet location.
Dorit was a very warm and flexible host. We had our plans change several times along the way, and Dorit was able to meet my party when we arrived even though it was earlier than originally planned. The weather was rainy, but the teens enjoyed the pool and used the gym. My son enjoyed playing the piano in the apartment as well. We loved all the decor, and it brightened up the rainy day. The huge windows gave a nice view of the sea, and the apartment stayed warm, even though it was very cold outside! There is a little grocery shop conveniently near the apartment complex, and it was a quick taxi ride from Sde Dov airport where we flew up from Eilat.
Wonderful location and great building! Very comfortable, plenty of room, parking and great amenities! The only suggestion I would have for the owner is that the apt be cleaned better. If it's clean ... it's perfect! If it would have been cleaner, it would have received 5 stars!
Dorit Arad is a very pleasant and helpful person. Everything went well and the apartment was great. I would recommend to everyone.
We stayed at the apartment for 5 days. Everything was great! The apartment is large and clean, and the view from the panoramic windows is magnificent at any weather and day time. The bed is comfortable and the blanket is warm and soft. Every evening we were swimming at the pool which is also very nice and every evening we were alone there.
The apartment is not really central but it wasn't a problem for us because we rented a car. (By the way there's a comfortable parking at the -1 floor.) I don't know how to get to center without a car but Dorit certainty knows. She also can tell a lot of useful things. Dorit is very friendly and hospitable person. She knows and loves Tel Aviv and can give you an advice how to spend your time. I hope we’ll visit TA again and stay at Dorit’s apartment.
Dorit is my mom.
She is a very good person and a great host.
Loves to help people and also cooks amazing food!
I strongly recommend staying at her place
