Ted was a very welcoming and helpful host. Although slightly out of the usual backpackers price range, the golden guest in is a diamond in the rough. Very clean, comfortable beds, free laundry you can do yourself, good AC and bathroom (wetroom style). Great for first time visitors to Yangon especially if you dont know what to expect from the city.
Ted and his family made us feel welcome and took the extra step to make sure all our needs were met including help with taxis which are needed to get around. The listing is accurate. The location is okay as Yangon is a sprawling city. Ted is fortunate to have an ATM in his lobby and this makes it easy to obtain local money. WiFi service in Yangon is not the best but Ted does his best to make sure adequate WiFi service is available.
Our expectations were exceedingly met. The room we stayed in was very spacious with a very big and new HD flatscreen TV. The host really made us feel very welcome. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Yangon.
Golden Guest house is a little gem in Yangon. We were in a group of 3 which can be awkward when you only have one room but it is no problem here - 3 separate comfy beds in a big room. Had cold beer, and bottled water waiting for us on arrival. Big TV in the room, good A/C, 'wet-room' type bathroom (fairly typical for Myanmar) and plenty of food places nearby. Closer to the airport than downtown so was perfect for the last night of our trip. Family run place and hosts speak good English. Great overall.
This place is superb. I've been there for almost a week. All family members are very nice and helpful. Their staff is very polite.
The room is very comfortable and all amenities in the room are above average, even when compare to many hotels in Yangon.
Breakfast is also great and plentiful. Internet is the best of all service provided.
I would highly recommend and definitely will stay there again when I am in Yangon next time.
Being our first host in our Southeast Asian Trip, we are blessed for having stayed at Ted's house. Very fastidious in dressing, very decent and very respectful Ted welcomed us in a very impressive way. No reading of rules, not telling us to removed our footwear, not telling us not to do this and that because it will destroy his inn's flooring, not to open windows or that sort, etc, he was very polite and humble. Together with his Mom & Dad and his sister the welcomed us warmly.
Great place - clean and comfortable in a nice area of Yangon. Ted is a very helpful host and understands Western style comfort.
Ted is very friendly. Give us a lot of help. The room is large and clean ,facilities is complete. Site is located between the Aung Mingalar Bus Terminal and the old city of Yangon, the location is good. Next time to Yangon, I would like to choose this house.
Ted is very nice and helpful. He waited for us till mid-night and greeted us with warm smile. Make me feel like home. Room is big and complementry drinks in the refrigerator. Recommended to stay Ted's place.
Ted and his families very kind! Wonderful experience at his hotel!
