Our host met us at the house and showed us around. We had the whole upstairs, which was spacious and comfortable with two big bedrooms, a bath and a big living room. It was much more comfortable than staying in a hotel where we would have been squeezed into one room. The kitchen was small-just a sink, half-fridge and microwave. We were told we could use the downstairs kitchen, but got by with the little kitchen for the most part. There are lots of stores and restaurants close by, so it is a good location. We were very satisfied with the accommodations.
Grace was a wonderful host and staying with her felt like home from home. The bed is amazing! We felt completely at ease and the location is very close to several local bus routes which take you into Monterey City in a jiffy. We would definitely stay again when we return. Thanks so much Grace!
Grace was quick to respond to emails and text. I sent an email at noon to left her know I would be coming down to see the area. Grace let us check in early and gave us a walk through of the living room, bathroom, and two bedrooms. There is a sink, microwave, and small dorm fridge. Two couches and a TV (AT&T Uverse) and plenty of towels in the bathroom as well. It was very spacious and clean. The kitchen is downstairs with pots, pans, microwave, rice cooker and coffee maker. The two passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium was a great bonus as well (normally 39.95 for one pass).
There are plenty of places to eat down the street and guides left on the table in the living room have tips for other sights in the area.
Grace was a great host. She was quick to respond and graciously accommodated my late check out request. I did not meet Grace, but she left clear instructions so I didn't have any questions during my visit.
I had the first floor bedroom with the flower comforter. It was clean and very neat as well as the rest of the house (at least from what I saw on the first floor). The bed was on the firmer side, but I liked it. The Monterey Bay Aquarium tickets were easy to find and thoroughly enjoyed. :)
I would consider staying here again. The value is great, especially with the tickets. The neighborhood was quiet and convenient to get to Monterey.
Very nice house! Two huge beds extremely comfortable, a big living room just for us and everything very clean! Thank you for the aquarium free pass!!!
Spacious and clean enough rooms upstairs but not possible to cook upstairs for 4 people (just a microwave and not enough chairs). We were allowed to use the kitchen downstairs and found the kitchen not clean at all!
My kitchen is not included in my listing, but I'm kind enough to allowed you to use and I didn't see your appreciation. Your four people are very loud and left the rooms messy. You are not welcomed in the future.
The house is not in the best neighborhood, but Grace's house is one of the nicer ones. Grace greeted us when we arrived and was very helpful with showing us to the room, getting us the key, etc. The room itself was as pictured and clean. The bathroom was functional but rundown. The kitchen wasn't very clean; we would not have been comfortable cooking in it. The room was located at the back of the house, and was very quiet which was a plus. The best part of staying here is the two free passes to the aquarium which we used the next morning!
My wife and I were stayed for a night on a road trip up the coast. It was a very nice place. Very comfortable. Close to Carmel and Monterey if you have a car. Grace was a wonderful host.
Located close to Monterey and Carmel which was great! Grace kindly gave us 3 aquarium passes to use for the day. She was easy to get a hold of via email and pleasant.
The accommodations themselves were very plain and lived in. We all agreed it didn't seem clean. Clean towels were in the bathroom and the bedding also, seemed clean. No ventilation in the bathroom. And we noticed mouse droppings under the kitchenette sink. A small private refrigerator was available for our use. We didn't feel very comfortable relaxing in the apartment. We did not utilize the downstairs refrigerator, which Grace offered for our use.
It was located on a busy street with a lot of traffic we noticed at night.
