This place was absolutely amazing.
I went after this rental because the view from the balcony in the pictures looked amazing, it turned out to be better than I'd expected.
My girlfriend and I were met by a nice lady who gave us the keys and left us to it. The elevators are very quick getting up to the 14th floor and the apartment.
The apartment itself is wonderful, decent sized kitchen with a big fridge freezer (plenty of ice) and oven, coffee making facilities etc, all we needed.
The living room is very comfortable, the bedroom is a good size with very comfy bed, and the bathroom was fine with plenty of space and a very good shower (I find a good shower very important!), great Wifi too. The big air conditioners in the living room and bedroom were life savers too as it was very very hot while we were there.
But for me the real star of the show is the balcony room, two walls with big sliding windows that open to what must be one of the best views of the Waikiki beach. It was wonderful sitting on the high table and chairs taking morning coffee together as the sun came up or having lunch watching people play on the beach and the surfers fall over.
Christina was really nice and very helpful during the booking process.
I wanted a holiday apartment next to the beach, with an ocean view, full kitchen, wifi and good shower for my girlfriend and I to stay in while we explored Waikiki. To this end the apartment far exceeded my requirements and expectations so I highly recommend it to any couple looking to do the same.
(If you can try and convince the security guard to take you up to the roof, the view is amazing but don't get him in trouble as it's not really allowed!)
This is a truly amazing apartment in one of the most idyllic places on Earth! The fully stocked kitchen has an open hutch to a breakfast bar. Across from this is the comfy couch and chair and the large flatscreen tv. The bedroom itself is behind a set of sliding doors which you can use to completely close it off, or open it up so that it seems to be one very large room. The bathroom is around a corner off the bedroom, with the toilet and tub in one room and the sink in an anteroom. The huge lanai directly overlooks Kuhio Beach Park at the southern end of Waikiki close to the zoo. There is absolutely nothing to obstruct your direct view of the beach from the 14th floor. Looking out you can see the ships passing and looking down you can see the surfers. The lanai itself has a raised table for meals (same height as the breakfast bar, so the stools are useful if you're more than two) as well as a chaise lounge for reading and relaxing. The lanai is separated from the rest of the apartment by sliding glass doors, so they can be open or closed but the light (and view) gets through. The lanai has sliding glass windows at stomach height, but is completely enclosed, so there is no danger for children.
Everything you could possibly need is right downstairs or a very short walk. There are plenty of restaurants and a great frozen yogurt place across the street. Of course, the beach is also across the street. The nice thing about the park beaches is that they have seawalls so that the waves don't hit very hard on the shore. But if you want to surf, you just go through the gap in the seawall and you're in the best spot! This is also the most diverse place in Waikiki, with a great mix of locals and tourists. Since there aren't the huge hotels right on the beach, you get more of a beach/shoreside culture in this section. We were lucky to arrive about a month after Lyft and Uber started operating and used them to get to the Safeway 1.5 mi away to do some grocery shopping since the kitchen is a major draw for us. There are also plenty of busses there and over to the Ala Moana shopping center. Christina has excellent pots and pans and the fridge has an automatic ice maker. She also provides beach mats and chairs, a boogie board and snorkel equipment. The building is very secure with a security guard at the entrance most of the time. In short this is really the perfect Waikiki location and we hope to come back soon!
Great guests! Offered helpful advise for the apartment, very friendly, laid back - welcome back ANYTIME! Highly recommend.
Christina was a fantastic guest and it was my pleasure to host her. She was very respectful and considerate and has a joyful appreciation for her surroundings. I wish you the best and hope to visit someday in Hawaii!
Christina and Zen were great guests. They were easy to communicate with and left the place in excellent condition.
Christina & Zen were extra special guests! very honored to have them in my home. they are always invited back anytime!!
Christina and her lovely family were perfect guests. I left town before they did, but have it on good authority that my home was left in perfect condition. I would be happy to open up my home to her again, anytime.
Christina was a very sweet and considerate guest. She has great communication skills and made sure to leave my home in clean condition.
Christina, her son Zen and their friend Brooke were wonderful guests: super friendly, clean and really sweet. They were very quiet and extremely considerate (insisting that they take out their garbage - for instance). When they departed, they even left a tip for the housekeeper, a very classy and much appreciated gesture! Thank you, Christina!
Very independent group who were familiar with the city and needed no help and all. Zen was an absolute darling: smart and curious, and quite the sophisticated young traveler already. I very much enjoyed hosting Christina and her family and hope to have the chance to do so again when they return to New Orleans.
Christina and Zen were very responsible and conscientious guests. It was a pleasure having them in our home
Christina and Zen are perfect guests!!! They both were very polite and respectful of my home. I wish there had been more time to get to know them. They are welcome back in my home any time.
Five Rosie's Cove guests! Christina and her son, Zen, are absolute gems! They are loving, kind, inclusive, gentle, warm, friendly people who truly make the world a better place. What a delightful duo! Christina and Zen visited with their friend, Brooke, for part of their trip and Brooke was just as lovely. Christina is a great housemate, very conscientious of cleaning up after herself and Zen is always looking to be helpful--he is a pro at taking out the trash/recycling and bringing in the mail! Zen loved interacting with other guests who enjoyed Christina and Zen, too! I highly recommend Christina and Zen as Airbnb guests anywhere around the world--they are people who get along with everyone and everyone enjoys their company and good spirit. Thanks Christina & Zen!
