We feel like Wendy wasn’t honest with herself, nor fair to us, in confusing five star Airbnb ratings with that of a five star hotel.
Perhaps she has some misplaced attributions and expectations, both about our listings as well as Airbnb in general.
As stated in our listing, the house is shared (and there is a municipal bylaw which forbids locking guest rooms), we opt not to use the air conditioning (because of having to contend with sub-arctic conditions 8 months of the year), and we are often absent, working out of town. These factors, amoungst others, preclude us from being able to constantly appease misconstrued guest expectations whilst offering accommodation for $25/person/night. Moreover, Wendy was asked in-person throughout her stay if anything at all could have been better yet she denied as much multiple times, thereby not giving us the opportunity to address her concerns.
