Wow, wow, wow. The Carriage House had it all! Dana and Eric thought of everything. The house was set up with all the basic needs and amenities covered, all the way down to natural citrus air freshener in the bathroom, organic olive oil and vinegar, spices, and a coffee setup ready to go. Really appreciated their attentiveness to using natural products, compostable bags, and other green items. Their care in these details reassured me that the sheets were laundered in hippie soap, too, which apparently it was, because neither Justin nor I ended up itchy and uncomfortable (THANK YOU!).
The space was as listed, though they forgot to mention how incredibly comfortable the bed is. I think it must have a memory foam topper? This is literally going to be our next bed, whatever it was... Such a cloud to sleep on - I've never slept better!
The full kitchen was really nice to cook in, and we used the grill out back as well. Really just a lovely place!
I will definitely be back to the Carriage House - they've done a stellar job of setting it up and making it a very welcoming, comfortable place to stay.
We had a lovely time for 4 nights at the Carriage House. After a day exploring the city it always felt warm and inviting to return. The lighting is excellent, the heater warmed things up quickly and efficiently, the couch was comfortable, and the bed luxurious. The house is within walking distance of New Seasons, several great restaurants on Fremont Street, the Kennedy School, and bus connections. We left our car parked on the street until our last day when we had to go 30 miles to Corbett--the rest of the time we were able to get anywhere in Portland by transit. A great visit, we would stay here again without hesitation.
Dana and Eric were helpful and accommodating. There is an artisan bakery around the corner at which my boy and I found the best scones that we ever had. Also close by is Old Salt, where we had an incredible breakfast and could purchase sausages and meats(sliced bacon in our case) from the meat counter to be cooked at the rental. A slightly longer walk put us on Fremont where we had an even larger selection of retail and restaurants. The stove was used and loved during the January nights. We would love to stay with them again!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Cully Carriage House! It was clean, uncluttered, and had absolutely everything we needed as our home away from home for the week. It was very quiet and peaceful, and we liked coming "home" after a day of gallivanting around Portland. Dana and Eric were very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Thank you for a lovely stay. Your place is amazing as always, we loved spending time there. All the basics and extras you leave in the kitchen for guests are much appreciated.
We would highly recommend the Carriage House. It is warm and welcoming.
Lovely place with an exceptionally well equipped full kitchen. The location is good, close to a great bus line and some coffee shops and restaurants. The house is s very quiet and the bed comfortable. I recommend the Carriage House.
Great to have you stay with us, Kate! Thank you for taking such excellent care of the house. Hope to see you again sometime. Happy New Year!! :)
Great house, great hosts. I'll stay here again.
The listing was clean, comfortable, well-stocked, and very attractive. Dana kindly left us information about local restaurants, markets, etc. and a delicious chocolate bar. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt very safe and at home walking around the area.
My mom and I stayed at the Carriage House to relax together after exploring Portland all day. We loved everything about this house: from the fresh organic coffee, to the high quality appliances that we used to cook together. It was meticulously clean, and beautifully decorated. Dana is quick to respond if you have any questions or need anything. The Cully house is a perfect space for guests who want a quiet and great quality place to stay, and I couldn't recommend it enough!
The carriage house has it all...private, comfortable, well-appointed and close to everything. Dana was a great communicator.
I've known Dana and Eric for many, may years and can testify to the fact that they put great care and love into everything that they do. I have watched the Cully Carriage House transform from a dream into a reality in the last year, and it has been done with incredible attention to detail, an effort to preserve the historic beauty of the structure, and lots of creativity. The Carriage House is in a great, family-friendly, quiet neighborhood-(I lived one block away for several years and loved it!) that is minutes away from the thriving and lively Alberta Arts District, where you will have your choice of cafes, locally-owned restaurants, art galleries, and funky and friendly Portland folks! Dana and Eric will be incredible hosts- they have been in Portland for many years and can give you lots of great information about fun things to do for you and your family. Enjoy your stay at the Cully Carriage House- you will be glad you stayed there!
