I'm a retired elementary school teacher/principal and love to travel with family and friends as well as on my own. I love to visit the "seven wonders of the world" as well as unique, off the beaten path sights. When traveling in the States, I love to road trip as well as fly. When traveling aboard, I try to avoid US airlines and corporate lodging.
April- June 2014
This is my second trip to Germany; I spent six weeks during the holidays of '12. During this trip, I'll be visiting family outside of Nurnberg and traveling to various Central European cities. Marrakesh, Budapest, Rome and Venice are at the top of my bucket list for this trip as well as Prague, Luxemburg, Krakow, Salzburg and Vienna.
I've been very fortunate to travel far and wide. Some of my favorite trips have been: spending my birthday on the beach in Phuket, Thailand, exploring Machu Picchu with my son, experiencing the Grande Platz in Brussels late at night, white water rafting with my partner in Costa Rica, touring the Imperial Palace in Toyko, hiking the Great Wall of China, seeing the view from the top of Taipei 101, drinking gluhwein at the Christmas market in Nurnberg, touring Paris with my sons and taking a guided tour in the ancient city of Ankgor Wat, Cambodia.
My next big trip is set for November- January 2015, when I will be doing a three month stay in Chiang Mia, Thailand with side trips across southeast Asia.
If you have a suggestion of a unique spot for me to visit, please share it with me.
