My wife and I are an artistic couple, she's an musician and author. I work for a cruise boat company that takes people out for trips on the rivers.
Everything about my stay with Kyle & Dao was excellent. The location is super convenient for getting around Portland with lots of bus lines nearby and a MAX station a very short walk up the street.
The room itself was ideal and a real joy to stay in. There's such a lovely Zen (for lack of a better word), relaxing vibe to the room and I looked forward to retreating into it at the end of long days of exploring Portland. It is small (but I prefer it that way) but has everything you could possibly need, including a mini fridge to store things in.
As hosts, Kyle and Dao could not have been kinder or more generous. They made me feel very welcome in their space and offered help at every turn. I would love to return to this beautiful little space when I am back in Portland.
This was a perfect place to stay. Kyle was welcoming and the room was great. With the entrance to my room right by the front door, my own bathroom, hot water pot and refrigerator, I had everything I needed. I was busy working during my stay, doing the Art in the Pearl art fair and talking to people all day, it was perfect to come back to my cozy little room and relax. It was very quite and peaceful. The room is nicely decorated with art too, so I felt quite at home. Thanks to Kyle and Dao. I would highly recommend this bnb to anyone!
Kyle and Dao were lovely! I arrived quite late the first night, but they stayed up to make sure I arrived safely, and Kyle even offered to pick me up at the airport if I had trouble navigating the buses and taxis. They have a very sweet little pup and an adorable white and orange kitty. The room itself is indeed cozy. Just the right size with lots of storage and a serene little patio. I took two delicious naps on the insanely comfy twin bed they have. The townhouse itself is gorgeous. Kyle and Dao have a lot of art and knick-knacks. I wished I'd had more time to spend getting to know them, but I was running around attending events for a wedding. They also gave me some excellent recommendations on where to go for lunch in downtown Portland. I was melancholy on the last day :( It's quite a relaxing space, and I didn't want to leave for hectic NYC. I highly recommend them. Very beautiful and gracious hosts!
My dad stayed here for a week and found it very comfortable and extremely convenient. The patio is really nice, especially in the summer, and it makes the space feel much bigger. It's very private, affordable, and convenient to the Max. Kyle and Dao were great hosts and very laid back.
Kyle and Dao are excellent hosts. They offered good suggestions about places to check out, and fed me a pretty great breakfast. The private room is very cozy and comfortable. I highly suggest people traveling by themselves to consider.
The reservation was canceled 38 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I had the best time staying with Kyle and Dao! Kyle lent me his extra bike while I was there, and being located in a place connected to many bike-friendly streets, I was able to easily explore all of the parts of Portland I had planned to see. The house itself is beautiful, and I felt very comfortable staying there. Highly recommended!
This is a cute, immaculate, self-contained room, close to the MAX and looked after by the laid-back Kyle & Dao - defiantly would stay again
It was so nice to stay in their place and you can also have your own privacy. Kyle and Dao are super nice and kind that just like family members. I wish I could have more time with Nara and Nadikate. They are very sweet dog and cat. The whole house are smell good either from their cooking or the candle? I'm not sure what they use but it does relax you. I was very lucky to stay with them about 1 week and I enjoyed and had very nice vacation which totally release my nerves in Portland.
I went to Portland to look for housing to prepare for my move up there, and stayed with Dao and Kyle for an extended period of time. In that time, I got to know them as very sweet, humble, easygoing and welcoming people. They not only freely shared their kitchen and living space with me, but also their time and insights. They gave me advice on where to look for housing, and even took me bowling or for the occasional drink. I felt quite at home with the whole family, while still very much had my own privacy in the room. By the end of my stay, I could really call them my friends. I'll be seeing them soon when I make my move!
