Altogether, the property could not live up to the standards of a luxury rental as advertised, was not clean, not functional and not enjoyable for us in any way or form. The owner did not work with us but instead tried to bully us into believing that we had to live with his poor standards of hospitality. As we arrived shortly after 12 a man who identified himself as the owner let us know that we were late, gave us the keys and left without any tour of the property. The house was very hot especially for a 2-yr old and an elderly woman from Northern California. The AC units were locked at 76 degrees but I still have doubts that the temperature was anywhere below 80. Upon asking if we could lower the temperature, he replied that this will not be possible because "all houses in Miami are locked at 76 degrees". As we insisted he eventually agreed to come back to the property after several phone calls, still refusing to adjust the AC. After a lengthy discussion and really rude and uncooperative behavior he finally agreed to leave the AC controllers unlocked so that we could set our temperature. We soon found out that the WiFi coverage for the network they provided us with was restricted to the kitchen area and that most of the living room and none of the lower bedroom area had any WiFi coverage. Upon asking the owner if he could give us the log-in to another, much stronger signal from a router located in the living room, the owner flat out refused and said that we would have to deal with what is there, i.e. the router in the kitchen. One room with very slow wifi and only one barstool to sit on. After trying to cool the house for a few hours we found that the AC units were not capable of cooling the house below 75 degrees in the daytime. Upon further inspection that night we found that the bathrooms on the upper level had not been cleaned, there was dirt and hair in the bathtub and adjoining areas. The 2 other bathrooms were cleaner but did not have hot water. Our travel companions then had a hard time going to sleep as the 2 AC units were placed directly adjacent to the lower level bedroom and just below the upper level bedroom windows, leaving only one bedroom with relative quiet. Unfortunately, the fan in the lower level bedroom was also broken so there was no choice but to run the extremely noisy AC all night. We found that the pool was full of Algae and unusable for us with a small child. The daybed outside had a white cover which was spoiled by brownish dirt of unknown source. Certainly this property had not seen a cleaner for a long time. The fridge was smelly &ran at 52F, took all night to cool it down to 40 degree to store baby...
