Colin and Marisa's place is a beautiful, cosy little place. Great kitchen. We found the little extras - tea bags! music system! - really helped us relax in the evenings, because we were in and out of town pretty quickly with work, and really busy while we were there.
The park right across the street was also nice, despite the weather.
My husband and I stayed at Marisa and Colin's place for one month while we were looking for a rental apartment in the city. Their home has a lot of character, is cozy and has everything you need to make you feel comfortable.
Unfortunately, we were not able to use its gorgeous backyard because of the tough winter in New York this year. It's worth it to spend some time there for sure!
Marisa is the perfect host. The heating system had a small breakdown and her responsiveness was amazing. She even bought extra heaters and made someone to bring them while the issue was fixed. She was permanently reachable, which it gives you confidence.
Moreover, she is very friendly, always ready to offer you an useful recommendation about the city from the distance. She really cares about their guests and our whole experience was great.
The townhouse is located close to Downtown Brooklyn and Dumbo, only two train stops away from Union Square. However, the distance to the nearest train station is 15 minutes walking. If you don't mind to walk a little bit or take a cab at night, it is simply perfect!
Marisa was a great host even from states away! The house was perfect! Very clean and great location. Marisa provided my husband and I with lots of helpful info as to how to get around and local places eat! She was also flexible with check out times.
Marisa and Colin are such wonderful hosts. They made me feel like I am returning my own home. Their description to their house are totally accurate. The home has decorated with antique furnitures that made the place very cozy and comfortable to stay. And it makes their guests will at home. The neighborhood is suitable to me. It was quiet and private.
In all, I had such a nice stay at this place. I would love and looking forward to return to this place again and again in the future...
Thank you, Marisa and Colin. You should be considered one of the best hosts at Airbnb!
Marisa's apartment in Brooklyn was home away from home for us during our family holiday trip to NYC! Cozy, warm, stylish, clean, organized and accomodating. Marisa was friendly, prompt and extremely helpful with emails/information/questions. Instructions to follow are detailed and a must to follow. We would definitely stay there again.
Great place with lots of nice small details, fully equipped kitchen, very clean and organized. Instructions are very detailed and cover all needs. Location is just 10 minutes walk from subway station.
Marisa's apartment was great and had everything that we needed. Marisa was also very quick to respond to any queries we had. Thanks for everything!
Marisa was very easy to contact via email. The apartment was not as bright as pictured but all of the amenities were there. The neighbourhood was slightly out of the way but in a really interesting part of town. Would recommend if you're exploring Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Brooklyn Bridge.
I only wish I could have met Marisa and Colin in person! Marisa and I communicated mostly by email. Being new to AirBnB she was a great help and patient as I learned the system. When I returned to the house, everything was just as we'd left it and the neighbors had only good things to say. Thanks to Marisa and Colin - I hope we cross paths again!
Although I did not have the chance to meet up with them face to face - they were very nice in any and all communications. They also took excellent care of our studio and I hope that they will come back to visit us some day.
Marisa was an excellent, respectful, and trustworthy, guest. She left the apartment in perfect condition and was delightful to interact with. I would be very happy to host her again!
This is my pied-a-terre of choice whenever I visit NYC! It's a great two-bedroom apartment with a darling little back yard that's the perfect spot for sipping your morning coffee! It's also across the street from a super cool park, so if by chance you bring your kid(s), there's plenty of room for them to run around. Fort Greene park is also just a hop, skip and a jump away and is filled with hip Brooklynites and their offspring.
North Elliot Place is right smack dab in the middle of two of the coolest, most up-and-coming neighborhoods in Brooklyn: Fort Greene and Dumbo. My two favorite neighborhood restaurants are each within walking distance: The General Greene (in Fort Greene, go figure) has the most incredible bacon (er, meat-candy) and Vinegar Hill Kitchen (in Dumbo) has inventive cocktails and delicious, sustainable comestibles.
If you want to head into the city, the subway is only a 15 minute walk away and then just a few stops into downtown Manhattan. On your way to the subway, you'll pass through downtown Brooklyn- keep an eye out for the landmark Junior's Cheescake, which is not to be missed.
This apartment is really cozy and would be perfect for two friends, one or two couples, or even a family of four with young kids who don't mind sharing a room. The bed in the master bedroom is super comfy and the guest bedroom leads out to the aforementioned backyard.
I've known Marisa for almost 10 years and she is an honorable and trustworthy gal. She actually owns the whole building and is a great landlord and an incredibly reliable super to her tenants.
If you're familiar with the city or just looking for the real-deal Brooklyn experience, look no further. Enjoy! And seriously- go get the bacon at The General Greene. It will change your life.
