I teach psychology, play guitar, love music and good conversations.
Six things I can't live without? My family, my friends, my wits, music, my memories, and good food.
I live in Perth, Western Australia, which is a wonderful place to live. The weather is fantastic and the lifestyle is laid back. My family and I enjoy going to movies or chilling out at home by the pool. I am an Associate Professor in Psychology at Edith Cowan University. I teach research methods and statistics and biological psychology. The best thing about my job is the flexibility which means I can take care of the kids and help them with their various schedules. I also love my job because it gives me the opportunity to travel to Singapore to teach psychology. I feel like I know the place like the back of my hand now.
For fun, I try and play guitar. I can progress with my playing with lots an lots of practice, but learning anything new musically for me is very labour (website hidden) get anywhere, I need to practice a lot! I used to play basketball until I damaged the ACL in my left knee a few years ago. The knee feels fine, but the confidence is not there to play any more, in case I do more damage. Other than that, I like to travel and have been to lots of places. My favourite places to visit are Paris, London, Chicago, and Singapore.
One of my favourite experiences was living in Chicago for five years when I studied at the University of Chicago. Though my wife and I were living off a very limited income, we managed to see a lot of the city and had some fantastic routines and experiences.
I love food though I'm not a great cook. I'm improving though; it always seems like other people's food tastes better than mine. Any city I go to, I sort of rate in terms of how good and yummy the food is. Favourite food cities? LA and NYC for their sheer multicultural variety; Paris for its overall quality; London for its sandwich shops, and Chicago for Italian beef sandwiches.
