My name is Carol. Long time SF resident. I look forward to having you stay!
Carol's apartment is absolutely lovely... exactly as the pictures depict. It's bright and cheerful in the morning and a great escape from the city in the evening. I was particularly surprised by the great view from the main bedroom! You can see Corona Heights rising in the background and the tip of Mission Dolores Basilica just a couple blocks away. The apartment was comfortable, incredibly convenient, and I was able to really settle in over my 2 month stay.
Carol is one of the kindest, most gracious hostesses I've come across. She greeted me with all the apartment essentials and pointed me in the direction of food and entertainment as soon as I arrived. She got me and a friend tickets to the Marsh theater (which was fabulous!) and offered us suggestions for other local theaters to experience throughout my stay. On a particularly difficult night when I came home a bit upset, she invited me upstairs for tea and we had a great chat about love, life, and travels. She is a genuine San Franciscan and I was lucky to have found her home for my extended stay in the city.
We stayed in Carol’s apartment for a month and absolutely loved it! The location is simply fantastic. It is close to everything either by foot or public transportation. We loved the Mission and our neighborhood with the park close by as well as fabulous restaurants, cafés, shops and everything else just around the corner.
The apartment is perfect for living like a local and it has everything you need in a home. We did some cooking at home and that worked out fine with the utilities. We even baked cookies! The place is quite spacious and it felt really big for just the two of us.
Carol was an awesome host and the best SF guide you possibly could get. She helped us with everything! When we needed something she fixed it right away and was always so nice and sweet. All communications went smooth and enjoyable and when Carol wasn’t in SF Karen took just as good care of us. We will truly miss them both and hope to be back really soon. We definitely left our hearts on Guerrero St.
Perfect location in the best part of San Francisco, the Mission District. Just next to the Dolores Park and also easy to visit other parts of SF. The apartment was nice and clean and neighbors were very friendly and introduced us to the city. We lived there for one week and had a great time!!
We (Family of 4, kids 2-4 years old) stayed in the apartment for 2 month and when we left it felt like leaving home! This is because Carol and Karen took excellent care of us, answered questions and helped whenever needed in a very speedy manner! They are super friendly and are perfect hosts (before arriving and during the stay)!
The apartment suits a family of 4 very well and has all you need. You will find a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with TV, Piano, desk, 2 bedrooms. We did not expect to find anything specific for the kids but we found a highchair, baby bed and books/games. On top of that it is located in a fabulous area of SF (perfect mix of shops, restaurants, parks, playgrounds).
We can highly recommend staying here and we hope to come back for 2-3 Month later this year.
Response from Carol:
Thank you, Sven and Elke! We hope to see you again very soon! Carol and Karen
Wonderful flat in the best corner of the best neighbourhood in San Francisco. Carol was wonderful in accommodating my needs before my stay, Karren was the most amazing host during it. I couldn't recommend this place more convincgly.
The property was clean and comfortable, well located, quiet and met my every need.
The apartment was comfortable and bright, with nice touches like brownies and fresh flowers. Carol was out of town, but Karen--who lives directly upstairs from the apartment--was readily available to let us in, show us the apartment, answer questions, etc. The apartment was a bit chilly because of the outside temps on the first day and only a single wall heater, but we learned to layer up and close doors to contain heat. The location is great for those interested in exploring The Mission District, Mission Dolores, and surrounding areas. I'd definitely return and will recommend the place to friends visiting the area.
Review by Anna's mother: My husband and I just experienced a wonderful week in San Francisco, much like those who live there and take a "Stay Vacation." Our daughter and future son-in-law put us up in the Guerrero street apartment that was within walking distance of their place and in the heart of the mission district- shopping, eating, sight seeing, etc., all just a step out the door.
Karen graciously welcomed us as if we were rarely seen relatives- providing all basic amenities, even the coffee press I prefer, with the coffee! It is a homey, place where you still get the feeling of those who have lived or stayed in the passed, since there is ample reading material ( interesting books) a living room, complete with TV internet access and even a piano I was able to play . Also children's games and books ( two sleeping rooms) a large master bedroom and fully equipped kitchen.
I could go on , but I think the best thing I might add to end , is if you are wanting a home a way from home, while on vacation, you can't do better than Carol and Karen's Guerrero St. apartment.
Caorl's friend Karen was a pleasure to deal with, very accommodating and thoughtful. The apartment is well-located and bright and clean. Don't miss Tartine Bakery on the corner - the pastries are amazing.
We had a lovely stay in Carol's flat. It really is the perfect location in the Mission, and the flat is very clean and homely. Communication with Carol went without a hitch. Thank you for letting us stay!
