Très belle maison avec une vue géniale. Cependant assez loin de Tte commodité
Luis was so pleasant to work with. Very kind and responsive. The home was great and just what we were looking for. Quiet and off the beaten path. The caretakers were also wonderful. Had a great stay.
Beautiful space, and beautiful area!! the pictures are very accurate. The place was not very difficult to find after Carlos had given us very clear directions! we enjoyed our stay there and will definitely stay there again.
We enjoyed staying at Casa Celajes. It was a bit difficult to find, but with directions we were able to get there. We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful time at the house, as well as enjoyed the amazing view.
Casa Celajes was great and so was Luis Carlos.
The house is just lovely and in a great setting. By far the best bit of the house is the pool with the most amazing views over the Nicoya Peninsula and such beautiful sunsets.
The house is set up a hill in a small fishing village. If you want to be away from the tourists then this place is great. You need a 4x4 to get up to the house. Best to have your own car as there's not much around that is walking distance. Having said that in the village we bought the most amazing prawns and fish that they had just caught. Unfortunately we didn't have time as we cooked ourselves and watched the sunset a lot and just chilled by the pool, but we saw a few local (just down the hill in the village), very cool looking restaurants that we would have loved to try out. There are small little convince stores near by as well but no supermarkets or beach too close.
The house didn't have wifi, which is lovely to switch off but we found a little wifi cafe just a 10min drive away who were really nice.
During the day the little swallows dip in the pool to drink while you lie there watching them and at night the bats dip on the pool right next to you. You can also see some wildlife in the garden and pick lemons and papayas from the garden.
The family who help with the house live next door and were great and so friendly and helpful. They had picked lemons from the tree for us, had got some local fish for us and left water cooling in the fridge for our arrival.
We stayed here as an alternative to staying in Monteverde after doing some tours during the day, only 1.30hr drive away and MUCH better weather just a short distance away (the drive is so beautiful but do during daylight to be safe). We also then drove to Santa Teresa from Casa Celajes after so it was a good spot to stop in-between.
Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere relaxing, rural, great views, sunsets, star gazing, non touristy and with a nice pool :)
For us, this was a take-your-breath away experience because of the fabulous view and pool. The sunset absolutely looks like the photo and the sunrise is just as lovely.
The house is a little remote. We got groceries before arriving and cooked in for the two days there. Incredibly relaxing and inspiring.
The reservation was canceled 14 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This place was incredible. The host was accessible and helping us out with directions and information about the area. It was a little hard to find the place because of lack of street names and rocky roads but when you arrive on top of a mountain, the view is priceless. It is gorgeous and beautiful and the people taking care of the pool are very sweet and generous. They even offered limes from the lime tree on the property. Beware there is a lot of insects in Costa Rica! And in the house as well, it is hard to avoid….The area is very local you can see very real people from Costa Rica and how they live.
Casa Celajes provided our family of four the perfect Costa Rica respite. Host Luis Carlos went out of his way to ensure we would find his home suitable for our family and provided detailed maps which were clear and thoughtful. He even called us the morning of our drive to check-in - just one example of the thoughtfulness of our host! While the location is definitely remote, it is well located to access the beach and the Monteverde Cloud Forest if you don't mind venturing out, which we did.
Our kids spent the majority of their time in the pool, and with the kitchen we were able to enjoy early nights relaxing after picking up groceries at one of the local markets on our drive to Costa de Pajaros. The a/c units in the bedrooms, which we used occasionally, are an added bonus.
We must commend the caretaker, Elton. He was available whenever we had a question and was very accommodating for our early morning departure.
Lastly, we appreciated that Luis Carlos emailed us the night before our departure with caution about driving down the hill following a thunderstorm. It was those little details that made a big difference and why we would recommend Casa Celajes.
AWESOME location and view! Highly recommended if you want a great private place off the beaten path!
