We had a lovely time staying with Fiona and Andrew. The space was really lovely and calming and such a great location in Taupo.
Great place to stay and very comfortable.
The Plum Tree Studio was great. We enjoyed the privacy of this self contained space. Communication was very timely with Fiona and Andrew. Fiona was available if we needed anything but very easy going and let us enjoy our privacy in this quiet and comfortable space. Property is beautiful and we loved the cats!! Very good value.
Fiona and Andrew's place exceeded expectations! Relaxing atmosphere, clean, lovely decor, and a great shower. We never had the opportunity to meet Andrew but Fiona was very welcoming and her son is a little charmer. We had a great stay; the lake is great for swimming, walked to Huka falls, and had a relaxing soak at the Thermal Spa Park (if you go up the trail a bit from the bridge there is a good chance that the other waterfall and pool will be empty and you can avoid the crowds). We also went to Waitomo caves which is a great day trip (2.5 hours or so away). All in all a great central location on the north island if you're looking for a home base.
Cosy and well decorated studio close to the beach and Taupo town center. Very good value for the money!
Enjoyed our two nights in Fiona & Andrew's studio flat and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to others. A couple of big plus points: freshly ground plunger coffee provided in the room, lovely cats (who stay in the main house), nice sized room. One area for improvement would be to provide wardrobe space or shelving but Fiona is aware of this and said it will be provided asap.
My stay at Fiona and Andrew's studio was absolute perfection. The studio was immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. The well-stocked kitchenette, private bathroom, off-street parking and separate entrance made for a peaceful and private stay. The location is wonderful - a quick walk to the lakefront and town, and an hour drive to the Tongariro Crossing (tip from Fiona: visit the nearby geothermal hot springs post-hike for recovery!) On top of all this, Andrew and Fiona are a lovely family. Highly recommended!
Plum tree cottage is a very restful place to spend a few days when in Taupo. Fiona left us the key so we could let ourselves in, but she arrived 2 minutes after we had anyway and showed us the flat. The space is amazing, nice bedroom area, comfortable bed, plenty of towels in the lovely ensuite. Kitchen has toaster, microwave and kettle, so easy for breakfast, but Fiona and Andy were fine with us using their kitchen to prepare a meal one evening. The place is 25 mins walk along the lakeside to Taupo, but only 3 minutes in the car... Parking in taupo is easy anyway. Fiona left us with a map of the area with some suggestions of where to go. All in all, a great place to stay in Taupo.
We had a great 2 nights stay, Fiona was great to allow us to use her kitchen and was nice opportunity to get to know our hosts. Our young son made himself a new friend in Alexander and the cats of the household. Good location close to the lake and town - it was also handy to get tips of things to do in the area. Good times.
We enjoyed 3 great nights in Fiona and Andrews lovely spacious studio. It is located in a very quiet neighbourhood but only a 20 minute walk or 3 minute drive to the town centre. We received excellent communication from Fiona and managed to book an extra night 2 days prior to arriving. The plum tree was also a great place to shelter from the hot sun at the end of the day. We would highly recommend this studio and hope to book it again on our next trip to Taupo.
I'd be happy to have them back.
Great guests , thanks would recommend
Fiona and Andrew and little Alex stayed at the Coachhouse and were lovely guests. They looked after the place and had a quiet and restful holiday
Fiona and Annie were great guests and the 12day old baby. I would certainly recommend them as guests
