Lois was a great host. She helped arranged things for us prior to and during our stay which was particular helpful as my husband and I went along to Elegance with our seven month old son and Nana.
The villa was great. Nice and spacious with a lovely pool. As another reviewer said - the pictures don't do the place justice.
We would love to return one day...
Lois is an amazing host! Throughout the whole process she was extremely helpful, from always responding promptly to my questions during the booking process, meeting us at the airport to guide us back to the house even though our flight arrived late on a Sunday night, walking us through the apartment that night to make sure we had everything we needed and even meeting us at 4:30 am the day we left. Lois could not have been more kind, gracious and accommodating. Thanks again (and we will be back)!!!
Additionally, the house was incredible...clean, right next to a beautiful beach, convenient and the pool, grounds and wrap around porch were amazing.
I would definitely recommend Lois and this property to anyone visiting Tobago!
We stayed at Lois' villa, Plantation View, for 5 days while we were in Tobago. The villa is nice and the pictures are accurate. There was plenty room for all 8.5 of us (8 adults plus a small child). There are two bedrooms upstairs connected to the main kitchen and living room, as well as two more downstairs connected to a small kitchen and living room. All rooms have private bathrooms and AC. There is Wifi with good connectivity. Do beware that you will need a rental car to get to and from the villa as the description says, as it is a little off the beaten path.
As for Lois herself - she is a fantastic host and went far above and beyond what we expected. She did everything in her power to make us feel at home. It's great to know a local when going to new places!
I can without hesitation recommend Lois as a host. If I'm going back to Tobago in the future, I would actively seek out one her properties.
Me and my wife stayed here for ten days. Was a very good experience. It is a two story place with an apartment on each floor. Had two bedrooms with AC, cable TV, full size kitchen, laundry room shared with the other apartment, dining room and living room. Ceiling fan in the living room. We had a swimming pool which included chairs and pads, outside grilling area, refrigerator, bar, music and lights. The house is set on approximately 1 acre of land and the landscaping is very beautiful. The beach was just down the road and you can walk to it. Plenty of space to park as you will need a car here. It's approximately 30 minutes away from the airport.
Response from Lois H.:
Glad you both loved it, and appreciate your review.
Sorry about the mop. I've made one available so it
doesn't happen again.
Thanks a million, and do come again.
Fantastic place and a great host!! House is safe, clean and the location is perfect for anything fun on the island. We will definitely come back!!
After a difficult 2013 we came to Tobago to relax. The only think we wanted to have was sun, beach and wind for windsurfing! Well, we were very surprise to find all what we wanted and much more!!
Lois was very kind with us, always ready to help. Her advices about the island were very helpfull. The house was wonderful and our 4 legs roommates (Missy and Laila) fantastic. Thank you Lois! We had a great time and we will come back again next year!
The heading 'two bedroom apartment' doesn't do justice to the place and neither do the photo's. It's roomy, spacious and especially the swimming pool is superb. We had a great and very relaxed time there also due to the very generous G&T's owner Chris pours.
Definitely recommended for a relaxing holiday!
Lois is an incredible host. She went above and beyond to help us. The bella house is amazing, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, nice living room, fans, AC, etc. There is a nice pool on location too. Tobago is an adventure so you need to be flexible and adaptable on our trip- but this place will be your safe haven where everything is as expected.
When we got to trinidad on dec 27th the Alamo told us they "ran out of cars" despite peoples' reservations made months in advance. It was not anyone's fault, especially the incredibly kind people working at the desk. Although they tried to get us a car there were NONE through ANY company on trinidad or tobago. long story short, after a vomit-filled trip on the ferry (get that patch before your ear before you go to prevent this ;)) Lois saved our trip by finding a friend to lease us their car. Lois is a miracle worker in more ways than one. it was so nice to feel like we had someone looking out for us our entire stay.
Our trip was amazing, full of adventure and relaxation. Trinidadians and especially Tobago-ins (?) are absurdly nice and helpful. You are lucky to stay here. Thank you Lois!
My family and I had a great time at this home. If you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to be at a great price this is it. Kids enjoyed the pool and we all enjoyed the beach and great food Tobago has to offer. Thanks
This was my first experience with AirBnB, so I was a bit apprehensive as I have 3 teenage children who want a lot out of their one vacation of the year. Lois is the person who made this all happen! She is so wonderful to work with and she knows what you need to know and communicates that to you to prevent any issues when you get here. Lois knows everybody on the island and can help you with any plans you want to make. She is a wonderful person and you will come away with a friend. Thanks Lois - it was great working with you!
I met Lois while planning some traveling to the island of Tobago and she was the listing agent for a wonderful house my friends and I rented for almost a week. Pre-travel contact with her through Airbnb was superb, she answered every question promptly and professionally while giving us an "insiders" view of the island. She graciously met us at the airport, took us to the rental to drop off luggage and then went out of her way to take us to a local grocery store for supplies.
The first afternoon at the rental, we had a slight problem with a bathroom door which locked one of our guests in, and Lois left her dinner party to come help us rescue the guest. We were all impressed that she showed up within minutes of our call and brought the tools to disassemble the door lock. Service with a smile!
During the week, we had several personal contacts with Lois, she helped us set up a snorkeling trip with some locals, gave us the scoop on the famous goat races and hanging out at Sunday School, both local traditions worth checking into. Lois also gave us a wonderful tour of the island as we road along with her as she did her daily errands. She is especially involved with the local animal shelter, which we also had the pleasure of visiting. Lois is a wonderful woman with a heart the size of Tobago and I couldn't more highly recommend doing business with her. We'll be contacting her on our return trip to the island for a place to stay, and continue a lifelong friendship with she & her husband which began as a business contact on Airbnb.
