I’m a lover, not a fighter – which is great because when I love your place (which I will because you’re awesome as is it), I’ll treat it with the utmost respect as if it were mine own. I’m a solid Midwestern (U.S.) guy which means I have all of those great Midwestern sensibilities – respect, integrity, cares about friends/family, does the right thing and has fun doing it.
My parents, both retired teachers now, instilled in me solid values – the most important of which I consider to be the love of knowledge and the impact travel can have on lifelong learning.
That’s why I’m interested in sharing my home in Chicago and/or renting your home, wherever it may be.
I’ve been fortunate enough, either through business or pleasure, to be able to travel throughout North America and to Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa and South America (saving up for Antarctica now!) –striving to experience and learn from cultures other than my own.
I live to live and live to learn, and I know that while it’s not necessarily about the destination vs. the journey, where you lay your head and start your day is as much a part of that journey as any stop along the way.
I’ve traveled solo, with friends and with colleagues and I’ve loved every minute of it. And I’ll love your place as a stop on my life’s road to discovery while making my own place as clean, comforting and worthwhile a place for you and yours should you chose to stay at my home in Chicago.
These days, I generally travel with a best buddy or two and/or my lovely girlfriend of 2+ years.
We are lovers of laughs, local experiences and culture and culinary delights. We love a good local market, a jog to see the sites, an indie concert and a local watering hole. Personally, one of my favorite things to do is to read the Sunday morning newspaper with a cup of coffee.
Hopefully I’ll be reading the Sunday morning newspaper at your kitchen table or on your patio/balcony soon, and learning what your culture and your world has to offer. Should you chose to stay at my home in Chicago, the Sunday morning paper arrives promptly at 7:30am and the coffee is always hot.
Looking forward to meeting you (and your place) along life’s journey…
