Hi, It's linda.
If you are looking for a cheap room closed to the city center, it is the right place to stay! I wasn't aware when booking it that the bathroom was shared with another guest room, but was never a problem.
This location was exactly what I needed for a conference weekend in Toronto. Quiet, affordable and comfortable. I wasn't aware when booking it that the bathroom was shared with another guest room, but was never a problem.
The bed sheets had not been changed! there were at least 6 long strands of black hair on the pillow and between the sheets. The room is standard. very much a hotel/motel and not someone's home.
very close to all downtown amenities.
Our family of 8 (grandparents - grand children) stayed in the lower apartment (basement & street levels or Rooms 1 - 4) for 5 nights in March / April 2014. We're a mixed race family of Americans, Canadians & a Korean (me). My husband & I knew what to expect from an airbnb rental, so we had a neutral/ positive stay, however, my in-laws had a negative stay. The Positives (+) + The apartment was as advertised. It's centrally located in Toronto & walking distant to a lot. A huge +. + Like other reviewers, I agree that Linda / owner was responsive & pleasant. + Room 2 (pictured w/the orange sofa) is large like the pictures. Room 1 was the smallest of the 4, but the 17-year old thought it was great. Room 3 (pictured with 3 beds) worked well with 3 younger kids and it was the 2nd largest room. My husband & I had Room 4, which was a bit bigger than Room 1, but it was for sleeping. + The sheets were clean. The Questionables (?) ? If you don't plan on cooking, skip this. The basement kitchen is stocked with only the basics for cooking. If you want to cook a SIMPLE dinner like pasta for 8 people, it's possible with the 2 pans and 1 small pot, but you have to be creative. The kitchen is smaller than pictured. My husband, stepsons (17 & 14) and father-in-law are 6" or taller so their heads were close to the ceiling. We also had to eat in shifts or separately in Room 2, which is off of the kitchen. I went to a discount store and bought a small knife since the provided knives were dull. ? If you don't plan on doing laundry, skip this. I had planned on doing a load of laundry or 2, but the washer and dryer (pictured) were locked. In fact, there were a lot of storage doors that were locked. ? A door code is used to enter the rental. The door code was given on the check-in day before I boarded my flight. It would have been useful to have by a day earlier by email. We managed to get the code to my in-laws just in time for check in. Door codes change monthly. The Negatives (-) - My Canadian parent-in-laws (in their 80s) checked in on the first day at 2pm and didn't know how to react to the Chinese cleaning lady (Lisa) who stayed at the apartment for more than 5 hours cleaning, loitering & eating. Add insult to injury, she couldn't help with the parking permit when my in-laws didn't understand the poorly written instructions on the wall. (Keep in mind that I flew in late, so I didn't witness this, but I can't imagine my in-laws lying about this.) - I understand the cleaning lady coming & going since there are renters doing the same, but she NEVER announced herself. I witnessed her...
A good option for those requiring a reasonably-priced place to stay within very easy walking distance of the city centre.
A comfy place for an overnight stay. Convenient to transit, cosy bedroom with a private bathroom. I didn't meet Linda but her housekeeper was nice and helpful. I would consider staying again.
We were three people staying for two nights. Everything was as expected from the pictures. The host is discrete but the room was ready for our arrival, with linens and towels, and clean. The wifi was ok. Walkable distance from downtown.
Very well located and Linda is a lovely host, very flexible.
Great room as always will be back
Second stay here for a conference downtown. Convenient location, great space.
