Last year we refurbished a cottage in Derbyshire as a holiday home. We're never short of something to do when we're there.

The cottage was great and suited us perfectly. It was very clean and furnished nicely. Our correspondence prior to our visit was informative and useful and we were very pleased with Linda's service. The kitchen was well equipped but small to cook for 5 people but there are plenty of places to eat out locally as advised by Linda so it wasn't a real problem just something to be aware of.
All other facilities were good in the cottage and the bedrooms were a good size and plenty of hot water for showers/bath. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we come back to the area. Thank you
Great stay at the cottage. Was as described.Ideally situated for local amenities and close to tourist spots. Nice walks from the house. Parking wasn't a problem.
We enjoyed greatly our stay at the cottage. We would have liked to stay more and discover more of Cromford and the surrounding places, but since we planned other excursions, we were at the cottage late in the evenings. However, we enjoyed an evening at the pub just down the road, an English breakfast at a restaurant also down the road and a early morning walk in the nearby hills and valley. The cottage itself, although 200years old and relatively small, is quite modern inside, has all the facilities, even for long stays, and very cosy and comfortable. Parking is on a first come first served basis on a narrow one way street, but we managed to park always. If we were to go back to the UK, we wouldn't think twice to rent again this cottage. Thanks a lot Linda.
Linda's cottage was fantastic. My friend and I spent 9 days there on a reading retreat, and it was perfect. The town (Cromford) was quiet and beautiful, and easily accessible by train. The cottage was very clean and nice to stay in. We did a lot of cooking with no problems. The local butcher has amazingly fresh meats and so the food tasted amazing. Plenty of walking to do nearby as well. The Scarthin bookstore is just a minute's walk and it is a lot of fun too. Linda was also very responsive to messages during our stay.

We had a great time in Linda's Cottage, This wonderful traditional cottage is in the heart of Cromford, a short walk from shops, Cromford Mills, and the amazing Scarthin Books. Linda contacted us as soon as we arrived to see if all was well. The neighbors on both sides were friendly and helpful, in fact the perfect location to explore Cromford, Matlock, and the dales.
We stayed with Linda in Cromford during August 2015. Linda's place is exactly as described and is very comfortable and homely. The village and area is beautiful and all of the recommendations made by Linda were excellent. There is a lot of information provided about the region and the interesting history of Cromford itself.
We can only confirm what other reviewers have said about this listing and although we did not personally meet Linda communication and directions were excellent and we found the place without difficulty. We would certainly stay here again and really hope to get back to Cromford one day.
The cottage was a fantastic place to stay to start exploring the Derwent Valley. We were a party of 5 and there was plenty of room for us all. Having two bathrooms made things much simpler! The cottage was clean, plenty of hot water, good shower pressure and warm which made the wet Bank Holiday weekend a lot more comfortable. Extremely quiet neighbourhood and very pretty location. The village was lovely. Highly recommend the Huntley Green cafe. The Scarthin Bookshop cafe looked good too but we weren't there long enough to sample their treats. Thanks for everything Linda.
We had a wonderful week in this lovely cottage, it was spotlessly clean and was just what I was expecting. Linda was a great host, all of the information I needed about the property was provided without me even having to ask and my questions regarding local information were answered very quickly and very well.
There were loads of games, books and films at the cottage as well as a multitude of leaflets containing information of local walks and attractions.
We had a lovely time in the cottage. It was spotlessly clean and nice decor. The kitchen was on the small side but this did not matter as there are lots of lovely cafés and restaurants nearby. Amazing walks locally. Linda did everything she could to make the experience memorable. The bookshop on the same road is certainly the most amazing bookshop I have even been in. If you like reading and books, it is definitely a place you should visit.
We had a lovely time at the cottage in Cromford! The house was small, but tidy and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the wi-fi was not working during our stay, but these things happen. Also, the fireplace was out of order, but we wouldn't have wanted to use it at summer anyway. Our host always responded quickly to our messages, mostly about the wi-fi and tried to sort it out already during our stay. From the local sights, we can recommend Speedwell cavern, Chatsworth stately home and the town of Matlock Bath. Cromford is a nice and compact town. It had most of the shops and services we needed at close proximity.
